Do you become forgetful after delivery?

Here people always say when a woman is pregnant, she will become stupid. I disagree to it. When I was pregnant, I even passed the French exam:) My IQ wasn't lower and somewhat I thought it was higher. As I had another little brain in my body, too. After delivery, I found sometimes I become forgetful. Sometimes my mind just got blank and I can't remember it at all. Or my child makes me busy and therefore I will ignore other things?

I was much more forgetful when I was pregnant. I am not as bad now that she is born.

I was the first time around but this time with my second, its like you haven't got time to think about it, so you can't forget things....

My daughter is a year old and I still have my pregnant brain! My husband and I were watching a show about how during pregnancy a woman's brain actually physically shrinks. I guess they could monitor it with a CT scan or something and could see that it gets smaller while pregnant. They said it gows back to normal by six months after delivery. I think I'm more absent minded now than when I was pregnant. Some days I don't know if I'm coming or going!

I think I need more time to get back to normal:) Your response is very interesting, I like to hear something that is based on the science.
