My Little Granddaughter and Her Dancing...

My nine and a half year old Granddaughter, as some of you will already know, was chosen to join a dance group for a lesson and exhibition today. She was amongst those chosen for the All Sussex Schools Most Gifted and Talented Dancers, the only one from her school, and we were all very proud.
Well, she went down today, to Bognor Regis, accompanied by her Mum and older Sister, who were armed with video recorder. But, as is the trend these days, they weren't allowed to use the video recorder with it being a children's event. So, whilst the kids were learning a routine, Mum and Sis went shopping in Bognor. lol. They did come back to see her dance though and Mum got pretty tearful.
Anyway, the upshot of it all is, my Granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed herself. She likes to perform, and is good at it as well. There's a possibility that somebody might recognise her as having potential, that paving a way for her in the dancing world future. She really is good to watch. She has natural rhythm and her movements are very accentuated. She stands out from all the others.
So, that event over, which I unfortunately, wasn't able to attend, we shall look forward now to June, when she has her Drama Group Production at the Hawth Theatre Studios in Crawley. Splash, her drama group, hold two productions a year, one in summer and one nearer Christmas, and they are excellent to watch.
I'm so proud of my kids and grandkids as I'm sure everybody is. Mummymo for one, who has a very talented little daughter, who could go far.
Thank you for letting me share mine with you... now, I would love to share any achievements your children or grandchildren have reached.:-)

How proud you must be, and rightly so. Your granddaughter sounds like she has a wonderful talent. Hopefully it will lead to a wonderful future. I am sure your whole family is proud of her. None of my kids have done dancing(exept for a bit at school). But my 10 year old did rythmic gymnastics for 4 years tilllate last year, when we moved. She was quite good. She was in level 3, and competed to state level. It was a wonderful acheivement. I was very proud of her. One of my other daughters is getting ready to do her grade 3 piano exams. She plays beautifully. She is 14. My eldest girl tried out for Australian Idol this year, but unfortunately didnt get in, but i am still proud of her for giving it a go, and tell her that she has a great voice, and to keep using it. I am proud of all the kids, as you are of yours.
Best wishes to you, and i know you will be looking forward to june when she performs again.

Wow... Kay, it doesn't matter whether it's music, dancing, or rhythmical gymnastics, or indeed any other art form. I find it truly satisfying and awesome when a child has such talents as your children, Mummymo's daughter and Samson's daughter, as well as my granddaughter. I would have loved to play the piano... my grandmother had a piano in her living room, and I was taught a little by my uncle, but never carried it on. How I wish I had, but my Mum had other designs on my talents and sent me to Dance School to learn Ballet and Tap dancing. Ok, I wasn't bad at it, but I never shone, like my granddaughter. I think maybe kids are encouraged more these days. Besides, what is rhythmic gymnastics, if not a form of expressive dancing?
Thank you for your response, my friend, congratulations on your kids' success and Brightest Blessings. x

Talented grand parent will always have talented grand kid. This January our local church "Immaculate heart Church" conducted a cultural programmes in recognition of New year. Two days before the programme, my daughter expressed here desire to perform a solo dance for a favourite number. I was not sure about her performance, due to limited time factor. On the final day, She captured the attention of entire audience, who garlanded her and gifted her with 2000 bucks. I was speechless... on the occassion.

So, talented parent will always have talented child, also, my friend!!! :-)
That's a wonderful story. Your daughter obviously has great expressive talent, which captures the imagination of all those who are priveleged to see her perform.
I would not just have been speechless... I would have been in floods of tears. You must be so proud of her, and I'm sure you will trust to her abilities in future.
Thank you for this wonderful response, Samson, and Brightest Blessings on you and your daughter. x

I had forgotten that was today! I am so glad that she enjoyed it - and so sad that they were not allowed to video it - one so that you can see it and two so that she could look back at it as she gets older - what a wonderful video that would be! What are thy performing in June? I bet she has a glittering career ahead of her! Do you think stage school is a possibility? That was so kind of you to remember my baby girl and you are right to be proud of your family! Thank you for sharing this with us ! xxx

You're quite welcome, Mummymo. I don't know what their drama production is yet. I'll have to ask when I see her tomorrow. I think she would love to attend a stage school if there's one available and she's accepted.
Thank you for your response, my dear friend and for your interest in my family. Brightest Blessings... yours will be back tomorrow. :-)
