I have a desktop computer , and right now I prefer it over a Laptop. Actually, I don't think I'll ever need a laptop soon. I don't know why some of my friends are crazy over buying a laptop as if they can bring it to school with them. What's your opinion?

I hate carrying a laptop unnecessary. I still remembered those days when I need to carry a laptop into cinema to watch movie, when dating with my friend. Because, if I leave the laptop in my car, it can be easily stolen. Many of my friends lost their company's laptop and ended up need to pay back the Company. ...no laptop for me. I can do everything with my desktop either at office or at home.

LOL. How long ago was this, when they had the larger laptops? It's not always a good idea to carry your laptop every where you go. Thanks for your response!

I don't own a laptop, which means i'm using a desktop now, but i'm sure i'm as crazy about a laptop as much as your friends are and as soon as I save enough mony, i'll definitely get one. The main reason why I want a laptop is because of the fact that it's portable.

Everybody wants everything portable in modern society. It would be cool to have a laptop, but I don't think I need one right now. If that's your reason, then that's fine. Thanks for your response!

Laptop, why? *Can take it along with you to school and such, so easy to take notes during lectures and display the sheets right in front of you *LAN parties, no longer dragging along an entire system, just take the train to a LAN party by carrying no more than a laptop and a mouse *Speed of laptop and pc's these days don't differ that much anymore, so you can get a laptop good for gaming and such as well *Within the house also not limited to one location, can even go sit in the garden with it *Can use it as a desktop by hooking it up to a display, keyboard and mouse The only downside basically on a laptop I can think of when it comes to functioning on itself basically is that it's more expensive. Now of course if you like customizing, water cooling and all that stuff a laptop won't really work either although over clocking on itself can be done quite well.

That's cool. Hey, I never thought Laptops were useless. I would get one. It's just that right now, I prefer a desktop and don't see much of a need for it, especially if I can't bring it every where except if I ride in a car. I wish my High school had laptops. That would be cool! Thanks for your response!

I prefer laptops, for it's much more convenient to carry with you and it doesn't make noise to make you crazy like desktops, whose fans make loud noise when used for quite some time.

Same here, i have desktop and laptop at home. But would prefer to use laptop. I use laptop all the time. I mean everyday. When i am at home i will use laptop.when i go to school i use laptop. All my important document and information are all store in my laptop. On the others hand, desktop computer is just a computer that i store all the program, photo, movies, song, documents, and many many many stuff that i no longer use. If one day i need them i will just open my desktop computer and transfer to my laptop. Laptop is my convenient to bring it around and can work anywhere.
