Intelligent Posts Please!

I have been reading posts of members leaving because of the lack of intelligent posts lately. Everything posted range from trivial to boring except a few which really spins the mind to produce a well-thought of reply. There are people who weave about fifty discussions a day --- not really to know something they haven't known before or to ask for honest opinions but for the sole reason of raising the daily earnings a few cents more sacrificing quality. For who could con concoct fifty quality discussions in a day unless one is so well read and well traveled --- a modern day philosopher perhaps. How about limiting each member's daily post to two discussions per day so he can think of something really intelligent to post? This is simply a suggestion anyway. If this merits a positive move on the mylot big men, well and good --- if not, well and good all the same. To whoever has read me, sorry for the apparent discontent. I have just gotten a bit tired of discussions like: 1. What kind of perfume are you using? 2. Where did you meet your wife/ husband? 3. What browser do you use and why? 4. Do you sing in your bathroom? Waaaaaaah! I would have wanted to post a response like : WHY WOULD IT MATTER TO YOU WHAT KIND OF PERFUME I USE OR HOW I MET MY HUSBAND OR WHAT BROWSER I USE OR WHETHER I DO ACROBATS IN MY BATHROOM? It could sacrifice my reputation, but since I have seen people with a 10 who are going off somewhere because of the same reason I have stated here. Mylot moderators, please, please do something about this...

"Why do you notice the small piece of dust that is in your brother's eye, but you don't notice the big piece of wood that is in your own eye? Why do you say to your brother, 'Let me take that little piece of dust out of your eye'? Look at yourself first! You still have that big piece of wood in your own eye. You are a hypocrite. First, take the wood out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly to take the dust out of your brother's eye. (ERV). Thought: Jesus reminds us that we often pass judgment on others to keep from examining ourselves. This is wrong. In fact, it is obnoxiously and hypocritically wrong in God’s eyes. Before we start removing someone else's sawdust, we had better get our own blinding 2x4 plank out of our way. It's ridiculous for us to spend so much time finding all the little things that are wrong with others while we ignore our own huge problems. Let's address our own problems, weaknesses, sins, and inconsistencies before we start trying to "fix" anybody else! In short, my beloved sister jean_rose, look at your posted discussions if they are really worth "intelligent" before you can say that there aren't intelligent posts around. Visit other interests like debating, religion, people, relationships, and many more, i can see a lot of "quality" discussions.

Serves me right for being a hypocrite... But if you are one of the moderators here, please do something about this because whether we accept it or not, there are really stupid one liners which sacrifice the reputation of the website.

i am sorry my sister jean_rose. i am member of mylot just like you are. we have to accept that this is a community of different ethnicities, beliefs, and intellectuals. we cannot please everyone. we have our own rights as long as these rights do not violate the guidelines set forth by mylot.

I agree with you, there are really stupid discussions. The number of those discussions are increasing. All I do is answer them. But people make questions that deserve a simple "yes" or a "no". I don't like to see replies like "yes". I want to see texts that involves creativity, texts that made the person think a lot! I don't think they should decrease the number of posting per day to two. I just think they should moderate a bit more.

There are a lot of stupid posts here, but there are also quality posts. You just have to look for them. Personally, this post is very similar to several others that I have seen and responded to over the past few days. I don't know how many moderators there are here at myLot, but I do know that they are busy trying to clean up some of the many guideline violations. I know that they are keeping busy removing hundreds of plagiarized posts and other violations and more are being reported to them daily.

Hear, hear! I totally agree with your opinion. the reason i'm losing interest in participating with the discussions is precisely because of the lack of interesting topics to respond to. most of the topics/discussions started usually you can answer in a few words. it is very difficult to respond in an eloquent manner to discussions such as those you mentioned. Thank you for raising this issue!!!
