how do you deal with stereotyping?

Well, stereotyping has always been around, because people just don't understand the power of the word "individual", they always wanna group people into certain classes, I say there are no classes, but the ones we make for ourselves. But still we cannot change the minds of others, and so how can we counter it?? I guess the only way to start would be to start with ourselves, and not stereotype others, because who knows, in a certain subtle way, unknown to ourselves, you and I would have done it too. I do, however, believe that we have come a long way when it comes to stereotyping, and putting people in groups, but we still have a long way to go too.
