What sort of noise can you sleep through?

I am sitting here at my sister's apartment, and have been awake for almost an hour. My sister, my fiance, and our friend are all still asleep. The upstairs neighbors are running around, and my sister's cell phone just rang, but they have all slept through it. Can you sleep through anything, or do tiny noises wake you up at night?

I can sleep through pretty much everything. The only things I CANNOT sleep through; things that wake me up are a blackout, or when ALL of the power goes out, and when my cell phone rings. The cell phone is a new one from the past couple of months since my boyfriend is deployed and sometimes calls in the middle of the night, so I have to force myself up to talk to him when my cell rings. Other than those things, I sleep through the night without anything interrupting me. Well, there's also my cats, but that's only when they walk over my [sensitive] stomach causing pain..

I am another person who wakes up easily when there is a blackout. So many electronic devices make odd noises when they lose and regain power like that.

blackouts..that will wake me too come to think of it.
i think in that case,it's the complete absence of noise that wakes me,my mom runs the tv 24/7 practically.

Yeah. I wake up from the total silence that erupts. It's just not natural, there has always got to be some low humming sound coming from somewhere, whether it's from the refrigerator, vcr/dvd player, etc.

Okay, since I am the friend in question here, let me say for the record, the cell phone woke me up, but it wasn't my phone so I decided I did not have to stay awake. That said, as you well know, I can sleep through anything...parties on the porch, people talking in the dining room, loud music, unless it seems out of place. That's why it was so weird Friday night that I couldn't sleep at all.

I think the oddest thing about the cell phone ringing was that at first, Meg just moved her foot, and then no one else moved at all. But yeah, now that I think about it, I know that all three of you can sleep through just about anything. :)

I have difficulty getting to sleep if there is any sort of commotion going on but once I'm out I don't think there is anything that can wake me up. My wife can get up, shower and blow dry her hair in the morning and I sleep through it all (as well as her alarm clock)

I can sleep thru most of the time unless it is a very loud bang, then I will get up, but I do not have any problem falling asleep again. I am a fast sleeper as I am tired most of the time, I can fall asleep within 5 min after I hit the bed.

once i'm finally asleep,i can sleep through just about anything-i've slept through an earthquake before.
one of my cats likes to re-enforce the alarm clock though.if i don't wake,he will bat me with his paw until i do wake up
(plus he wants his breakfast).

Now that I take meds for my insomnia I can sleep through pretty much anything..before that though I couldnt sleep through ANYTHING..I would wake up at the slightest sound no matter how small/quiet etc it was....the ONLY thing that can wake me up now is the voice of my kids but thats partly a "mom" thing IMO...

Sleeping is my number one hobby and I don't think anything can stop me when I want to sleep. But... if someone is chatting in low voice besides me, I get disturbed and irritated and just can't sleep instantaneously. Anyway,if I'm curious about something, then too I can't sleep; but that has nothing to do with noise.
