How can I promote my blog? Any ideas?

It's not really like spam as long as you don't comment for people to get to your blog, but just comment to the actual article or such. Like I return to pretty much everybody who comments on my blog to check out their blog and possible comment there as well. Not every blogger does this, but there's quite a bunch who do. Another option is a blog surfing system like blogmad ( http://www.blogmad.net/?ref=0b1d1541ac2bea6 ), through that you can browse others people blogs, get credits and that way people will come across yours again. Not everybody actually returns as a visitor, but I have gotten some visitors through that which comment every now and then. Also submitting to things like technorati.com and such gives you extra visitors as well, extra publicity and that's always what helps. The most important thing though, give it time. In the first 3 months I had 0 comments, after about 6 months I had about 10 comments made to my blog in total, on 9 months I was on about 70 and now at around 10 months I'm on about 120. It comes exponentially and that's what many bloggers tend to forget :).

Do you have a myspace account? That would be a good way to help promote your blog. I have seen my other friends do it that way on there.

It is good to comment on other blogs. Just make sure it is a blog you are truly interested in, and that your comment is pertinent to the post. You can either place your link in the box supplied, or add it like a forum signature at the end of your comment. Another thing you can do is to submit your blog to sites like MyBlogLog, Weblogs, and FeedBurner. All are free, and have different terms. You can sign up for Weblogs at http://www.weblogs.com, and at MyBlogLog and FeedBurner directly from my blog at http://badpennyweb.blogspot.com. One other thing you can do is to mention your blog in different forums as part of your signature, and on your profile page here at myLot. Linkedin.com is also a good place to sign up for. You can put several blogs in your profile. MySpace is a another good place to post your blog in your profile. The most important thing you can do is to make sure your blog is primarily about one topic, and to make your post "keyword rich". By this I mean if you are writing about making money online, make most, of your posts about that subject, and each post should be about a sub topic related to this. Whatever the subtopic is should be repeated in several variants. The search engine spiderbots will find your blog whenever someonE searches for that topic.

The best long term solution to promoting anything on the web long term is article writing. Once your articles are picked up by Ezine publishers and Content Web Site owners you will have links returning people to your blog from all over the web. At the end of your article you are allowed an authors box, this is where you put a very brief profile and links back to any site of your choice.

Hey man i'm still looking to increase my traffic to... posting comments to other blogs is not spamming, if you write usefull comments on blog that you are really interested. The blogs must be in your niche and try to post good comments so ppl would be interested in you and visit your site or blog.. as i've tried some ways bringing more traffic i blog about them at intart.org . go to my blog and search for "Promote" or "Traffic" at the search box on the left and you will see some good articles about that.
