I got a cover up tattoo a couple of years ago from my regular tattoo shop. The guy I got it from doesn't work there anymore, but when I got it I was told that I had free touch ups forever on it. Since he doesn't work there any more is the shop obligated to touch up the tattoo (it's a shop policy) or do I need to go to his new shop to get it touched up even though I didn't get it there?

I think you should get the free touch up at the shop you got the tattoo done in the first place. I dont think they should refuse if it is a shop policy. But if you know this guy who gave you the tattoo well and trust him more for this job than the original shop, you can go to this guy and ask him for a touch up. But i think he may land up charging you for it.

A friend of mine works at the shop where I got it from and when I told her that I needed a touch up on it, she told me that I would have to pay at least $10 to get it touched up. It's a $300 tattoo, I don't really want to pay more for it than I already did so I'm just trying to take the free route. It's a cover up tattoo and since I lost color, you can see completely through to the original one (that resembles a hamburger but is supposed to be a flaming heart).
