Have you sufferred from road rage ? Have you been the predator or the prey ? As they say, I just to vent this out...LOL. This happened to me this morning, I dont know if youd call it road rage or just sheer stubboness..lol. In the town I live there is a bridge going across the river, its a one vehicle at a time bridge. I was half way across and this car decided it wanted to come across too , towards me. I stopped, waiting for them to reverse, and they didnt. I thought hmmmm Ive got a bigger car than you and mine has got a massive bullbar on the front, so if you wont reverse I'll just push you back. They didnt move, so I sat there and lit a smoke (I dont smoke in my car so I was annoyed at that too), I thought Ive got all day (but I havnt because I had to get back home to get on Mylot),This happened for about 10 minutes, mate was I annoyed. Anyway I didnt give up (I stood my ground)and they finally reversed, and I went on my merrily way. Sorry to bore, thanks for reading. I can laugh about it now.

As a long term trucker I have seen road rage on quite a large scale but I have been involved too. Once when my truck broke down in a narrow road I jumped out and was checking things under the bonnet when the lady (why does it always have to be a woman?) behind started to blow her horn quite viciously. So I went back and asked her if she would come up with me and put her head under the bonnet while I sat in her car blowing the horn, perhaps that might make my truck start. (I once read this in a mag. so it was good to put it into practice...!!) Another time I was doing 70 mph on a road going to work one morning in my car and the guy behind was up my a*se flashing his lights like mad so I opened my boot, you can do this on some Honda's, and he continued to flash his lights so I pulled over and he pulled in behind leaning out of his window he shouted....Your boots open....I replied, Yeah, I thought you wanted to get in it....!! Yes I've had my moments too with road rage but one never heard of it much when I first started in the 1950's.

evacuee, I am sure that you have avoided a few situations with your dry wit. Very entertaining and refreshing to see and read. :)

You finally won as you had a strong car, a tough owner and a good ground lol. I support you bcoz you persisted with what you thought was right. Yeah, we’ll never give way to an irrational road rage.

There is no excuse for road rage. At best it displays impatience and at worst it shows that a person is an angry person, completely lacking in self-control. Fortunately I have managed to avoid severe instances of this foul disposition of some drivers.

There are a lot of reports of road rage here. I have only experienced minor incidents. I was a passenger when my hubby was driving once. The two csars in front of us were aggro at one another, & the one behind started throughing items out the window at the other car. They both swerved a lot, trying to scare one another. Good on you for sticking around & not putting up with this person.

I think its getting worse unfortuntely, too many impatient people and too many cars on our roads. Im glad that you have not been through anything too bad.

I wouldn't have budged either, unless I was in an enormous rush. If you are halfway across, it is your go. I think you were experiencing road patience, not road rage! I would have been hanging out the windw yelling at them!

Right, you can laugh at it now. The word is to give way to vehicles who got first on a one-lane road or bridge...but it seems that the person on the other vehicle was simply stubborn..it's good that with what you did, you taught them a lesson. Ha, ha. YOu must be over confident with your bigger car. It's good that cooler heads prevailed and the other party decided to back off, or else...what would you have done? But that would be another good topic for the next discussion.

LOL.....Thanks. It was a skinny old bridge, so I couldnt open my door to get out anyway, so hopefully he'll think about not doing it next time.

Oh BRAVO, well done! I call that road smartypants. Good on you for standing your ground. Our one way bridges are signed so and on one sign is a give way sign. It's really good to see you have your Mylot priorities right. Cheers!

I have in the past been really upset by other peoples inconsideration of other road users as though they are the only ones who have a right to be on the road and the laws do not apply to them! Good for you honey for sticking up for yourself without letting them make you blow your top! At least you knew if it went out to long you had the bigger car and could just push them back the way - the vision of that had me rolling with laughter! Glad you are not angry any more sweets - I think the worst thing about your story is that these ignorant people tried to keep you away from mylot! xxx

Perhaps if you'd just kept creeping forward it'd be road rage but i'd say it's just a bit of stubborness & the other person being in too much of a hurry to consider other drivers. I have had a few cases of road rage & it only ever seems to happen when i'm in certain suburbs in town, it's usually because of P platers that think they're the best drivers & they like to cut you off, sit right up your ar*e & things like that. I'll sit up their butt if they cut me off & i'll break test them if they sit too close to me as well - it's rude & i don't think it's right for so many people to be so inconsiderate! I thinkit's human nature to be a little like this too - there are so many inconsiderate people on the roads these days & i'm sure most drivers have just had enough of it all! Good on you for standing your ground though, i wouldn't have backed up for them either & if i was in my partners ute with the bull bar i would have been sneaking closer & closer - bull bars are great huh?

Oh yes, I love the Bullbar, I feel like Im a different driver when I drive that car compared to my other one. Its like Ive got no fear, where as the other one I dont want it dirty or scartched....lol. Dont get me started on P platers either, thats a whole different story. But yeah I think he thought that I should move back for him because Im a chick or something like that I suppose, No way, was I going to do that. Thanks
