in our busy lifestyle, there are times when we dont have time to cook a proper meal for ouselves or for our family. therefore, we end up cooking "instant" foods which just takes minutes till its ready to serve. however, do you think we are compromising the yummy taste of real food? sometimes, i observe that the taste of instant foods have a different "twang" to it. it tastes something like plastic or something "fake". but in fairness to other instant foods, they taste good, like real food! there are just some products which really taste synthetic and "not really like original food." whats your say on this? any similar experiences?

No I don't like instant food. There are full of artificial flavour and zero food value. When I take instant noodles, I'll be very thirsty after eating it. But surprisingly I'll buy those vegetarian meat and vegetarian products displayed in the supermarket freezer. Even so instant food do have place in the consumers mouth. The instant food come in handy when you are hungry in the middle of the night.

I only use instant foods when I'm in a real hurry. I keep a few things on hand for when we need a quick meal. I prefer homemade food from scratch though.

Fresh food cannot be kept for long. That's why instant food are here to be the substitute. Some instant food are great. But, apart from the main ingredient, my only prblem is always the MSG and salt contain of any instant food. As I'm allergic to MSG, I can only eat certain instant food without this seasoning.
Of course, the taste is different, rather tepid but, to me, that's better than having to get some allergy shots later!

yes, MSG is also a big problem, it is harmful to our health and when it is used too much or absorbed too much by the body, it can cause damage to our kidneys. lets just eat instant foods when we really have to. :) health is wealth.

I agree with you on that. For instance, I consider macaroni and cheese an instant food. Kraft brand is yummy but most generic brands don't taste cheesey to me. I like Schwan's frozen meals. They always taste great. I also like ramen noodles but it has to be the Ramen brand, not the other brands. It just depends on the maker and how they have preserved it for packaging.
