got a brochure informing about robinsons sale for members this tues - thurs.
any of you thinking of going down? guess there should be quite a few members here right?
It's like the usual member extra 20% discounts. very appealing but I've already got plans from tues- thurs, so might have to give it a miss. thinking of getting some bedlinen. Realised that higher thread counts really feel a lot softer and more comfortable!

yeah... I know what you mean. The crowd there was really stifling!
50% for your bed linen eh? 500 TC? per square inch or per sq cm?
My wife has the card. But we did not get any mailer or notice of the sale leh. Hmm... Must call them to ask liow!
Funny thing is they put the sale in the middle of the week, and all of us can only go down after work. Good thing is, they open later, else it would not be possible to buy anything, cos the queues are particularly long closer to closing hour.
You planning to go again today?

No lah, I'm quite adverse to crowds. To go to grab a good deal i can still tahan for a while.
the sale is good enough for me to go again, but thinking of the squeeze. think I'll give the bargains a miss lah.
per square cm... yah it's the jean perry range. my hubby was telling me i should get my own card cos then i can go down without him if he's working really late that day or something.
Today I'm going gym! I think it's been months and months since I last went. Got the UOB card, hopefully can still use for free entry to Calfit!

Went down yesterday with my wife to check out the discounts.
Man~~~ the crowds at the ladies' shoes and under-garment department is packed!
I went thru the selections for the shoes in the ladies' shoe department with my wife... it is not all that cheap. We were at the AMK hub on Sunday, and found many of the shoes with similar designs and materials at a much cheaper cost than what is offered at Robinsons. And they are not on sale!
But the leather selections for the ladies' shoes are worth the buy.
The linen section is not that crowded. Men's section was also equally crowded. Most of the branded shirts like Thomas Smith, Gold Lion... are on big discounts!
Most of the items are on 20% discounts... and members get an additional 20%. Overall, it was good. Two more days.
I checked my letterbox, but no mailer leh... when did they send out the mailer to you ah, squaretile?

The higher thread count bedlinen IS more comfortable!
I have never realized this till I got my own set.
With the sale, the discounts would be great!
Personally, I prefer the Takashimaya sales. With their sale discounts, coupled with the Takashimaya credit card discount, one could be saving as much as 40% off the original retail price of the bedlinen!
Also, there are more selections at Takashimaya than Robinsons.
Robinsons is good for getting stuff like pillows and bolsters, and those thick thick towels as well.
This Tuesday - Thursday? Will inform my wife to see if she is interested to go take a look ;)

I won't. Cause some time they do markup the price of certain item to 50% extra before giving a 20% discount off the Retail Price.

yah i think some places do that. but when i went yesterday, this plate that i bought at full price, was at 20% discount.
so the discount is real! and after the sale, usually the prices flip back up again. That's the way of knowing that the sale is real. haha that rhymes.
