Be your own hairstylist? / myLot

Have you ever tried cutting your own hair? I did mine two days ago. I had my hair permed in the saloon a month ago and it has overgrowned to be very frizzy and out of shape. I took a scissor and started trimming from from front to back. After I have done it I washed and blow dry. Then I went to a family mothers' day gathering and to my delight everyone was complimenting on my new hairdo, enquiring which saloon I went. I did not dare to tell them that it is 'homemade' fearing I'll be branded a miser and being laughed at. I am proud of my newly 'acquired skill'. You never know you can do something until you have done it youself.

Hi Zandi, I have cut, straightened, Dyed, braided and permed my own hair as well as adding a variety of different styles to my hair. So given that statement, I would have to say I am my own hairstylist, Ive also styled my friends hair too. I have no qualifications in hairstyling either lol, but they still keep asking me to do there hair...

Hey, you are more adventerous. I think I will emulate your ways so that I will have more confidence to handle others. Experience is better than qualification.

I am confident to dress others hair, I think it is bit difficult task to do self hair dressing. Might be I will try once.

Try and you will be pleased. Sometimes with a professional hairstylist I am bound to have disatisfaction simply because I paid for the service and I expect perfection. When you do it yourself you blame no one if it is not so perfect.

I've tried but the result was descouraging. Anyway I'm a good hairdresser for my father. I use a hair cutter and I have good results and I like very much to use it.

Cutting males hair is much easier than the ladies. Trimming the edges is not that difficult if you had had a styled and permed hair. The curls will hide the defects if any. I think practice makes perfect. I will not hesitate to do it again once my hair has overgrown.

For the last 5 years or so I usually cut my own hair, which on my part is pretty simple since I cut it so short! I can save $15 doing it myself in about 5 minutes.

I am all about my hair and I make sure that my hair looks good all the time. I think my hair makes me look more cute.I definitely care about my hair style. A hair style that is all wrong, can make a person look older or much less attractive. It has been said that our hair is our crowning glory. A great hair style can make you look much better and younger looking.
