Why doesn't anyone mark a 'best response'?

Is it because the other person gets paid for it? I used to mark intitally but since I didn't see many others doing that, I stopped it.

Many people do mark best response and it is best to do so. The other person will be paid for receiving best response. If people figure out you are never marking best response they may decide not to respond to your discussions. You should try to mark best responses after a discussion is a couple weeks old. I used to wait a month but it got to be too much so now I will only wait about 2-3 weeks although some I still have are 4 weeks old. I am trying to mark them best reaponse a little each day until I will get caught back up. You should mark best response to old discussions even if only 1 responder. At least that user took the time to respond.

The difference is if you have just posted it and decide to mark your Best Response after an hour. You will have less potentiality to receive responses. Because to give a BR mark, means that your discussion is resolved. I would advised you, like tess1960 said, to let the discussion run for a couple of weeks. So it will give time to your friends and other members to give their best shot for the BR mark. ~~Just an friendly advice.. They can still answer to your resolved discussion, but it's different when you know the poster has already find an answer to his/her query. It's like answering to a question which has been already answered. And by the way welcome to Mylot Indartorg! Happy Posting! (^^,)

I think if you don't mark a 'Best Response', your posts will always be under the unresolved discussions group. If you mark a 'Best Response', you will not only clear up your unresolved discussions, but also may gain a few extra points.

Good point. Lemme do it on another discussion I've started and check it myself. Thanks.

I have no idea whether the other person gets paid for a best response or not. The reason I usually don't mark best responses (even though I know I should) is that I always think that who knows, maybe after a while someone will give another answer better than the ones I had so far and I won't be able to acknowledge it if the best response was already given :) I do mark best response though when I see a truly brilliant or useful answer to one of my questions. If there's no outstanding answer I just wait for more :D

Thats the hitch. People keep waiting and never mark. :D

I think if someone actually gives some thought to the answer they give then they deserve to be considered for best response. I have a few unresolved discussions but I do check them and give best response to who I think deserves it. I did not know that any one got extra money if they got best response but I think it does show that their participation in your discussion is appreaciated.
