After the invention of Cell Phones Pagers lost their importance. Same way VCD Players, Valve Radios, Cassette players are out dated due to invention of DVD Players, IC Radios and CD players respectively. What are the things, you feel are outdated now.

i think this is all part of inbuilt obsolecence, the forward march of increasing capitalist economies. The problem is that people buy things to last, this is no good for the economy, so you are encouraged to buy the same thing again in a different guise, i mean someone has to pay for the champaign at the share holders party, why not you?
blessed be

I still have a green pager from the 1990's, but it is not in use. I also have a new Sony cassette player with a TV on it. I am not yet up to date on the iPod thingy..if I were to get one for FREE, I would learn how to use it...the iPod is just not something I really need.
What I want is a new digital camera that is 10x instead of 6x and where I can take 3 shots at once.

Our vhs machine is outdated, and we have a regular Dvd player for backup because we have a HD dVd. Before I was married, I could not get things new but when they no longer cost as much which meant that in a couple of years they would be obsolete. It really hurts when you only make enough to buy stuff a year or so before they are now obsolete. I remember when I got that quadrophonic eight track player with the record player included, and that record player before that, and two years or less after that, they come up with the regular cassette players. At least now we get the stuff when it is brand new. My husband was smart enough to invest in stock and use the money to buy all this nice stuff, plus our house is paid for as well as the car, etc.
