spark plug wires

I have a 1990 crown victoria with the 302. I have replaced all ignition parts with accel parts which work wonders for this car and engine. The problem that I am having is, that after I installed the wires I can't get the passenger side wires routed properly because there is a lot of cross firing. I have made sure that the wires are in the proper firing order on the cap and rechecked that a few times. I have tried to reroute the wires and sometimes it works better and sometimes not. I have done this so many times on other cars with out problems so what am I doing wrong here? The 302 is not some marvel of an engine or something like that, any help would be gladly taken. Thank you

First make sure that you have the cylinders numbered properly. Ford 302 cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 on the passenger side, and 5-6-7-8 on the drivers side, both start at the front of the engine. Next make sure that you are using the correct firing order, which is: 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 with rotation being Counterclockwise. You might be better off using new wire looms that separate the wires, also. Good luck.
