Is Mylot as a whole slowing down?

Lately, it is feeling like this site is starting to die out as of people posting on here, answering discussions like they used too. I know sometimes people get busy, but I have noticed my discussions as a whole getting a lot less responses lately then they used too. I know I am Very busy lately, but this has been the Slowest month for me ever, and I am beginning to think people might be getting tired of this site, and turning to others? I know there are many other Writing sites and such out there now, and of course, they pay better and faster than this site, so is that where everyone is at, or are there still people who are devoted and posting daily on this site like you have always been? Just asking for your opinions and thoughts here. All are appreciated. Thanks!!

I have noticed the same - not only am I not posting as much lately but also not getting as many responses. I think part comes from our own attitude - when I'm really active reponding to others discussions I also see an increase in the responses I get. Over the last month I've just come to expect this and don't let it bother me - I do what I can but also need to do other things that do pay more. I still appreciate myLot and the earnings I receive here as well as visiting with friends and learning about the lives of others.

It's probably a seasonal thing. I know as the weather here gets nicer, I'm outside more in my garden and on my bike.

That could be true. I do know that I go thru spurts in how many Responses and posts I give each day, but I am still seeing a Slack in people responding to mine. Might also have to do with the weather as suggested as well.

Oh wait till school gets out for the summer in the US - you'll see an even bigger drop is my guess. For as long as I've been online it's always been that way - who wants to be on the computer when they can be outside. And - who can concentrate on anything with the house full of kids, vacations, picnics, trips to the lake and all that stuff.

You have been on mylot a long time so I guess you know more that I do.But I know that once the weather get nicer here in the U.S.I will not be on here as much.I thought that it was slowing down also. But then yesterday I posted a discussion an dtoday I have 29 responses.Whwn I was looking through them I noticed that not many were my friends.I also find that I haven't been looking at my friends discussions due to responding to my own discussion.

Well, I notice a lot of times anymore the people who continue to respond to all of my discussions are either the same people all of the time that are on my Friends list, or people who are Newer to this site and hungry to answer posts.

Of course it is slowing down because it is harder to find good reliable discussions to post to that you know won't get half your points deleted after answering them so yeah it is slower because of that. And maybe some taking a break now and then. Mylot has over 92,030 members now it. Is growing really well so it isn't slowing down in that aspect. Mylot pays all the time and if people are leaving to find other places for a faster made buck they always end up back at mylot becuase the other places never pan out and they don't pay half the time. I will be a member until it either quits or I can't access it.

No not everyone is leaving o follow a fasst buck I realize that. And yeah I know that mylot does not have 92,030 active members becuase I know of 8 that aren't they are my referrals they don't even come to mylot really after signing up except 2 and they quit as soon as they made 10.00 said it wasn't worth their time. So yeah I understand that. I know they are alot of problems that need to be ironed out and fixed my mylot but it might take awhile for that. Mylot will not be around forever what happens when everyone runs out of ideas for discussions?? Which I am sure will ahppen one day. I am sorry if I insulted you or did or said something that you took as being rude it is not what I meant to do or be. I have just joined about 20 different sites that was a waste of time for me and I stick close to mylot because it does pay so I can pay some bills like my phone and interent. I think also that accounts that are left unattended for more then a month or two should be deleted and that goes also for discussions that hasn't had a responses to it at all they should be deleted after about 3-5 months. Well, I hope you have a nice day.

Not everyone who leaves myLot does so for a faster buck as you say. I am spending my time on a forum that does not pay in such a fashion, but rather tells the members what is happening. With regard to the membership numbers, a lot of them aren't active members at all. I know of several people who joined the site and made a few posts then quit. This is not meant personally against you, but simply the facts are that there are some problems here that need to be addressed by myLot. That is not happening unfortunately and so some people will seek to go elsewhere.

You two need to be BEST RESPONSES, because you have both identified the problem and share the same grievance that I do. Actually I am quitting. They don't allow me to log in on my old account which is in my friends list. I have been cautious on my posts and responses, and am very aware of the guidelines to be followed on. This used to be a fun experience, not until the deletion of discussions and the unjustifiable drop of your marks and affecting too the people who enjoyed on your discussions. If this continues unreasonably, they will lose their people. The number of members that are enlisted herein are not even all active, that counts for my old one which is still existent. A lot of unaswered questions should be taken action and be addressed accordingly by mylot. They have responsibility to their members. I don't know how they generate money from us, but I'm sure that they do, and what they give us is just a dirt in the pinky of what they generate.

I think your right alot of people are tired of their discussions getting deleated. So instead of posting they are just responding. Also I think alot of people have moved on to other sites.

I know a lot of people even in my Referal list, or who first told me about this site are doing other things now. You never know.

I think this is because of the Blog section they added. The more they add to the mylot site the slower the site is going to run. Many people are putting in more writing time on their blogs and less time answering the open discussions. I personally do not read any of the blogs because the time it takes to read one long blog entry I can answer many different discussion topics and make more points and money. This is just my opinion.

I haven't been able to catch up with the posts my friends have started. My computer is slow now since I have dial-up connection. I wish I could be more time with mylot but it takes a long time to send the information, so please bear with me.

As you know KrauseHome I used to be very much a regular here on myLot and regularly responded to the discussions started by my friends. However, other things came up and I couldn't spend as much time here at all for a little while. Then when I did come here to myLot for the little bit of time I had, I found that my rating, or number of posts, had dropped with no apparent reason. I do not respond to useless discussions at all, and never have. On top of that I found that my previously resolved discussions were becoming "unresolved". No help at all on why it happens from myLot admin, so I would resolve them once again. The next time I came back the same thing would happen, and it is repeatedly happening. The person I give the best response to is still an active member here on myLot so that cannot be the reason either. There is some problem obviously and myLot either cannot or will not fix it. Then the system is going so slow it is not worth the effort. If it takes me 5 or more minutes to make one post, that is not acceptable at all. So, now I only come here to myLot because I have some referrals and also my friends I have made. I still like to respond to some of their discussions but that is it. I am now spending my time on a profit sharing forum, where members know what is happening because they are told by the admin with regular updates. A couple of days ago my rating again dropped but by 49 points in less than a day. Then today I noticed that some of my discussions have been deleted and I have no idea why because they were not offensive or anything like that. So, in future my visits to myLot will be greatly decreased and I know others who feel the same way that I do.

I have had some of the same problems as you and it soes take me 5 minutes or longer to post to a discussion but it has always been like that sometimes it does take me longer but I figured that was due to me having dial up connection. I have had about 6 discussions I had resolved come unresolved but I figured that was because several more people finally responded to them after not having anyone answer one in several months. Or maybe mylot didn't like who I chose I don't know. I have recently had over 30 points tooken for no apparent reason but I figure they have their reasons. I don't think I have had any discussions deleted though. But i use mylot to pay my internet and I haven't really found any other sites that truly pay I have joined tons just to find out after working on them They don't pay so it was alot of wasted time for me. I will still be coming to mylot to answer all my friends posts because it is only fair to them.

This is because there are lots of sites like mylot which are coming in market and lots of mylot members are getting diverted. Also many members have stopped starting topics because many of the members are experiencing that there topics are getting deleted.

I have found that a lot of the discussions that attracted me - serious, discussable questions - seem to have disappeared or tailed off. I find it much more difficult to find topics on which I want to express an opinion. I have never thought it possible to make a serious amount of money posting in this way, so I have never been disappointed with what one can earn here. I regard it as a place to meet people who like to think and hold similar (but not necessarily the same) views and interests. It has also been a place for meeting and making contacts, some of which have been very helpful.

I think that the activity is slowing down. For one thing summer is almost here and for a lot of people that means out doors activities especially with the longer day light hours. MyLot seems to be slow running too. It was for me this morning and that is frustrating along with the duscussions that are getting deleted.

Personally, my health dictates my MyLot activity. With spring and summer my allergies kick my butt six ways from Sunday. Benadryl kicks the itchiness from them but it puts me to sleep. I can't afford the more expensive non-drowsy medications at $20 for a 10 unit package. Then Mother's day just came and went. I had my Mom and I cooked dinner for her, ignoring the computer for two days over that holiday. For others, Summer and holidays will cause a MyLot slow down for them too. There are holidays for the parents pulling them away from their P.C.'s and to their little ones. Gardens can be as demanding as children in the summer, especially if they are large or consist of delicate plants. Winter is a quiet time for plants. Winter is no more unless your living in Australia. I've noted a switch on crowded topics. Blogs are crowded, news articles can be crowded with comment activity. You don't see as many crowds on simple discussions ever sense MyLot added the news items. However, when the Summer blitz of activity away from the computers is over, I think MyLotters will be back at the keyboards again. Kids will be in summer camps and garden seedlings will be growing in the dirt.

Well, I am still here almost everyday as well. What I meant is a lot of people have moved on to other stuff now, and just not posting like they used too, so sometimes it seems like you can never find the stuff to reply to on here like you used too.

I am giving it the benefit of doubt though I have the same sentiments. I am much relax now too and taking the opportunity to have a little break. I am not receiving as much email notifications as before and even if I received, it is from the same few. I attributed it to the recent holidays plus it is midyear "crisis". Just hope things will be better as I scout round for discussions to respond.

Yes, I do think that people are moving on or getting tired of this site. Why? Because I'm one of them. I used to be very active here and then things got busy for me. I stopped posting. Then when I remembered to, that excitement wasn't there for me anymore. I would come to the site, login, then a few seconds later I was done. However I'm back now and trying to get back into my groove, cause I need the extra money at the moment. It's not much but every little bit helps. :)

I do have periods when I am just not in the mood for any site at all and then I do take a break =) I am sure that people are just busy with other things and will be back soon. The summer is also coming nup and I am sure that will have a few less people here as often...

Yes you are right about the fact that people are not posting responses here. I mean I have started many discussions lately and at most I got only 2 or 3 responses. But before, I used to get a least 5 responses. People here are not being active enough, maybe because of other websites that are paying so much like Adbux and slowly people are losing interest in classic sites like Mylot. Recently many people were upset that their points were being cut and their earning were not increasing here, so probably many of them has left this site (or maybe they are on a vacation! ;)). In short people have lost interest in Mylot and are probably moving to some other site.

Why wont people stay long here? Like me, I used to carry angelina74, account still existent, worked hard on my discussions. I am very much particular of the topics I post not to violate any of their rules. But what? They deleted my account for unjust and unexplained reasons. This is a means for them not to pay out.... This is ridiculous! If they did this to me they can do this to everybody for no reason and cause. Aint it BS?????
