I have been in a funk all weekend, I haven't been able to respond too many discussions, I can't focus on my writing. I am just having a really hard time. I have been moody. I am suffering from a severe case of writers block and I need some motivation. Can anyone help me with some inspiration.

"You've Got A Friend"
When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend
If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud, yeah
Soon I'll be knocking upon your door
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yes I will
To see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend
When people can be so cold
They'll hurt you, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh yeah, but don't you let them
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again (oh baby don't you know)
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
Lord, I'll be there yes I will.
You've got a friend
Oh, you've got a friend.
Aint it good to know you've got a friend.
Aint it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend.

Hi davette. You need inspiration? Go look in the mirror. Take a good look at yourself. You are a brilliant, loving, motivator who just might need a break from the action.
I go there sometimes. I turn things off and go for a walk. I get on the floor and play with my dog.
I write a letter - a real one, or I write down the things I'm thinking.
Sometimes, it just has to run it's course. Take some time off.
You are running on information overload and need some quiet time. Read the Bible or some other inspriational book.
Go walk down the halls of any hospital and FEEL the misery and pain, then go home and praise God that you aren't sick. Write about the things you see.
Walk around a park. Watch children. Become one!
Like all things, this will pass. It just might take a few days. Go with it. Don't fight it.
Maybe you just need a break........
Hang in there baby and SMILE.

No it's not better. Just different. I know exactly what this feels like. It happens to me and sometimes, no matter what I do, I just have to let it takes it's course.

You are definitely what the doctor ordered. I thought it was just because I was frustrated with the discussion that have been on here lately, like the person who was posting everything and anything this weekend. So I tried to write but it just wasn't there, I love your suggestions and I will try them because I really need a pick me up. I'm wondering if I am going through some type of change, I have just be drained. Thank girl I really needed this pep talk. Thanks for being there.

i am not a writer by trade. yet when i feel a mood or a funk coming on. i yell stop!! and say not today. then i do something to make me feel good. listen to music, sing, or try to sing. do something that has nothing to do with writing. something that you really enjoy. it works for me, i hope it works for you. remember, FUN

It is cool girl, you don't have to be a writer to need a pick me up. And as terilee says not better just different we all have our way of expressing ourselves. Thanks for the suggestions music does help me sometimes.

you may just need a little break. take some time for yourself. to relax your body, mind and soul. work on another hobby, even if just for a few hours, which will allow your brain to adjust, and then maybe you'll all of a sudden just get a thought that pops into your head. sometimes i have to just walk away, then as i'm doing other things, i miss writing, and get more ideas then...good luck, i love your writing, so come back to us!!

Thank you very much, lately some of the discussions have been really I can't even find the words to describe how I am feeling. "Juvenile" that's the word for it and I don't answer discussion just to answer I enjoy helping and educating but I know everyone is not here for the same reasons. Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions.

no problem. and you're right, how "juvenile" some are...but it's just discussions people are bringing up about what they're feeling at the time. there are some youngin's on here!! but i like to comment and give advice as well, or words of encouragement. you do a great job at that. so keep on doin what your doin girl!!

When this happens to me, I use books:
Outwitting Writer's Block and Other Problems of the Pen, by Jenna Glatzer
The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron
Make Your Creative Dreams Real, by SARK
I also visit sites like livejournal.com where they have communities that offer journal prompts, writing prompts and other creative ways to jump start your writing again.
