Dont you find staring irritating?

It annoys me a lot, I usually just ignore them or stare straight back at them. I'm getting rather good at giving dirty looks, but I'm afraid some people are so dim that they don't even get I'm angry about being stared at.

I will always assume they're staring at someone else around. Last time, At the bus stop, I was stared for a long time before I recognized that was my high school classmates.

I like to stare right back, it usually unnerves the person staring and they look away. In fact this past weekend we were out geocaching which is like high-tech treasure hunting and this guy was staring at us from across the street. I don't blame him but that is beside the point. So I stared right back and pointed at him and he finally disappeared behind his house. My mom always taught me that it is rude to stare so I don't know why people do it so openly.
