Recently I leant that my Child Minder is HIV+. At fisrt I was really scared for my childern's safety. I'd like to find out what your feeling are about having an HIV+ positive person taking care of your childern. Also, what type of precautions should be taken in such a situation.

None, the person taking care of your children will if all is well already know them; mainly in this case just no blood-blood contact. So perhaps if the kid has an open wound you could recommend handling with rubber gloves on, the same way as you'd normally do it the other way around when handling an hiv+ patient. Any other than that though there shouldn't really be any risk.

Yeah - the problem though is I live in South Africa and AIDS Education is not good at all. We have started educating our childern now so they know what to do in an emergancy.
