I am starting to gradually exercise again after a tendon problem in my lower leg and ankle. The doctor says no aerobics yet, just walking. (I have special inserts that I have to put in my shoes.) YUK! Anyway, my son got me an IPOD for my birthday and I want to put some songs on it. I want songs that make you unable to sit still! You know, the type that when they come on you can't help but tap your foot etc! Please give me some suggestions of what to download! (P.S. I hate rap...please don't go there!)

'Jump' is a great one. I remember doing aerobics to that one years ago! I like several of these actually, thanks!!

There is a series, mainly of songs from the 80's and 90's, called "Jock Jams". It's a compilation of all those songs you hear at sporting events. You can still get them on Amazon.com, or Ebay etc. I find those songs really keep my moving.

I have alot of 80s stuff on my iPod. And just so many awesome songs that make me want to bounce. One of my favorites is a song called Tracy by the Cufflinks. My mom used to sing it to me when I was a baby. Tell me what kind of songs you like and PM me your email and I can send you some stuff. Also, some of the free songs of the week on iTunes aren't too bad.

I am a '70's and '80's freak! I remember that song 'Tracy'...yes, it is bouncy and would make me want to keep walking! I am so new to all this download business. I will PM you my email, but how does it work when a song is emailed to you? What do I do with it once I get it? Yeah, I am a technology idiot. *lowers head in embarrassment*

I think it's a wonderful thing, to move to a beat! I'm not sure of the artist, but the song is "Celebration". There's another, too, that I think you'll know "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye. Kinda funny, huh, since you are in the hills!
Good luck! And carry a pedometer to see how far you walked! Mine also tells me how many calories burned.

Yup, I already downloaded Celebration...as it definitely makes me want to move! My podometer tells me the number of steps too. I can't go far just yet, these inserts, despite use of moleskin, are causing some blisters where they rub the sides of my feet. URGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Oh, I used to be in an aerobics class and I love the songs that the instructor used. Unfortunately, I don't recognize most of the songs. Some songs are from that band, I forgot the name, the one that sang Dr. Jones, with the bald guy and the red head girl---oh, forget it. There are just some really good songs but I think most of them are remixes. I find myself still singing the songs after the class. LOL.

The groups is Aqua. There is definitely a pretty upbeat song. I found a video for it on youtube.com.
Also Konichiwa B*tches by Robyn really gets me going. And the video is funny! robyn.com/video.html.

The type of music I listen to makes most people want to get moving....as far away from the stereo as possible. If I had to recommend something from the music that I like which you could listen to and not want to stick your face in the garbage disposal it would be VNV Nation...a couple of their songs that are great for moving to are "The Farthest Star", and "Carry You".

HaHa, ".....as far away from the stereo as possible." I am not familiar with the groups or songs that you mention.

I dont like this subject. LOL I find that my favorite way to get fit is by walking. Not just walking but walking outdoors. There is something about nature that seems to calm anxiety and depression while you are walking for your health.
Is Rap really music???? I dont think so. LOL
