Seaweed,i love it.A common food in Japan. Its like a piece of paper.I only like the crispy sheets ones!I remember i started to eat seaweed when i was about 4 yrs old.A rectangular packet that have about 4 piece of seaweed stick together and have to peel it of one by one to eat it!A packet of it cost ten cent. Its still the same cost until now. But,now there is even cheaper price with 100 packets in it for about two dollars plus.Depends on the brands. There was once, the first time i had the seaweed..i like it and next time i asked my dad to buy it for me.He bought a box of it with about 50 packets in it during that time.I was happy and had it eaten. He was curious to know why i like it so much;he have not try it before..so he eat it!And he does not like the taste of it..he thought that the taste is awful. Its like a dead fish.End up,the box of seaweed was thrown away.I was not allow to eat seaweed anymore beacause of the bad taste that he claim and dislike. That was the first experience of me with my favourite snacks, seaweed. Even if i bought myself the seaweed,my parents does not allow eating it.Its like not a halal food to eat but actually it is.I were to get scold if i eat the seaweed in front of them and so i have to keep away from them when eating it,but they always does not allow me to.It was a long ago story, when i was in kindergarten.Next,I began to have it with them noticing it,they dont really care back then. They just said some words to make me aware that its like bad to eat the seaweed because they dislike the taste,BUT actually the seaweed it super nice and not bad at all! They go on with the blabberings of dont, dont but i insist..i still go on with it.I dont know how, after so much time, they just dont care when im enjoying my seaweeds. They are also fine with it.Fine for them for me to consume that!NOW,everything changes toward seaweed. They have a positive thinking towards it!Its like normal.I dont get scolded when having seaweed like in my early years...it does not really matter now. Until now, they could not take the taste of it!i think the elders who are not fond in eating such food like that..could not eat it because they are not use to it.

seaweeds are very rich in iodine which is beneficial to our body. it helps us prevent goiter. i eat the natural seaweeds instead. i have not seen or eaten yet the processed type in the form of crispy sheets you were mentioning here. how i wish i could buy that too. i am not sure if it available here in the philippines. i will check on that on grocery stores. thanks for sharing this info.
