A user posted a thread on the westboro baptist church wich protests at soldiers funerals. Shirly felps is responsible for such brilliant quotes as "thank god for 9/11" and "jews are the real nazzis" and "god loves dead soldier fagggs" I posted a link in my response to the thread with a copy of an email i had sent them, encouraging others to do the same. Well in contrast, i also looked up another website I think you should look at. http://www.patriotguard.org/ this is a nation wide group that shows up at the request of family to soldiers funeral, to honor the fallen and, if needed, shield the funeral from protesters. THESE are real men and women of "god"ps. the original thread is here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1002087.aspx

Being Jewish I do not like the fact that this lady said these things I mean what gives the right a person to say such things? That is just racist.

Tyra Banks interviewed that lady on her talk show and she's a nut! Some of the things she said are unbelieveable. I never seen people filled with so much hatred. They are an embarrassment to ALL Christians!

The Westboro group is made up of a bunch of dangerous nuts and they've shown up near us before when they were carrying around banners with hateful statements made against gays and lesbians. There whole "church" seems to be based on hate and I don't know how they get away with some of the things that they do. I've heard of the other group you're talking about too, Patriotguard. They sound like a wonderful group of people and yet and the same time it seems so sad that they are needed.

I saw those people on TV, and I was absolutely horrified by their actions. while not a Christian myself, I've known some Christians whose beleifs made a positive impact on their lives and lead them to live well and care for others. for those people, It makes me feel ashamed for what a bad example they are setting for their religion. while I am Pagan myself, I feel bad that they are parading under the same banner as some people who I am lucky to consider friends.
