okay, so i dyed my hair about 3 weeks ago. a home kit, and it was a brand name, a good one i've used before, however it was on sale for $2.00. so it's been awhile since i had dyed my hair, and now since my hair has gotten so long, i had a more reddish color on my ends, and my natural dark brunette (w/ some greys coming in) at my roots. just haven't had much time to think about my hair. so i saw this was that cheap, and went for it. so now i am losing quite a bit of hair everytime i wash and brush it. i mean, i run my fingers thru it in the shower, and when i reach the ends, LOTS of hair comes out...so if you've experienced this let me know and if you're a hair-dresser...why is this happening?? is my hair just more dried out due to dying it, especially since it's been awhile? and i don't use a lot of products in it, nor do i style it everyday, so it only sees a hairdryer or straightener a couple times a month really. otherwise i just throw it back...it's just scary seeing all that hair go down the drain...

I shouldn't worry too much about it. I'm always dying my hair and handfuls come out sometimes, it's because your hair has become weak and perhaps undernourished. Get some really good conditioners on it. Not only do I use the standard conditioner but I use spray on stay-in conditioner that helps. Hope all is ok

thank you so much for understanding!! it's much better now since it's been a couple of weeks. AND i have used a leave-in conditioner, which totally helped!! i think you're right, it was weak, and i'm very sure undernourished!! we haven't been eating very well either lately, so that can affect you hair as well!!

Sweetie I have always had that lol But if you have dyed your Hair then start using Products for dyed Hair and always use a Conditioner I also use a treatment once a week for my Hair When you do use the Hair Dryer or Straightners then make sure you get a serum for your Hair that you put on before using them

This is funny. You lost your hair for $ 2 hair dye, so I'm curious how much did you lose your mind for LOL I'm not a hairdresser but my hair used to be very thin when I was young and now it's thicker. The only thing I change so far is that I drink more milk and take supplements / vitamins regularly, maybe that's why. If your hair falls out after you dry them then you should change the shampoo and conditioner, because as you said you don't use hairdryer often. I lose hair after washing and brushing too, those are dying ones. When I use hairdye and wash my hair, I lose hair too, but about the usual amount I lose everytime I wash my hair, not more. Hope this helps Good luck

it's really not as bad as i made it sound. it's just after i used it, i was losing more hair than i usually do. i've used this product several times before. i really think stress was a huge factor. we've had a rough ROUGH month...which is also why i won't spend tons of money at a salon or anything...can't afford it. and really only got the dye to help my esteem a bit! i don't have any bald spots or anything. BUT i am clogging up our shower drain LOL!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the advice!
