Time Periods

If you could be born in any time period which one would it be and why? There are a few that I would love to have been born in. I love the medival times. I would have been considered a witch though because I would be an independent woman. I would want to be a mercenary or a knight (which never would have been allowed at that time). I also kind of liked the 1950's and 60s because so much happened back then. The model family was then (TV sitcom Leave it to Beaver-that was the ideal family for me), then there was the riots and women's rights, black rights, hippies, woodstock, being able to hitch hike without worrying, yeah those were the days!

I love the medieval times as well, all the mystique that comes with it, but I am asian and it would have been pretty difficult for me to be successful in anything in that time period other than be a servant and beneath others. I don't think I would like to live in the 50's or 60's there was too much turmoil and too much racism that was running rampant, again being asian doesn't help me there, LOL! I think I like it just the way my life is. Present time.

i like this period, but i think i am a little late as i want to be at the age of late 80's or 70's. As if i were there i should have been an rockstar. These days the music taste is different, people mostly go for hip hop and there is hardly any fan of classic rocks. I really want to be a singer of those age but so sad i cannot be.

Depending on your status, being an independent woman in the middle ages wouldn't necessarily a bad thing. That, and it depends on when exactly in the middle ages we're talking. There's a good 1100 years of history there, and society changes a lot. Personally, I've always been fond of the Victorian era. Right on the edge of the modern industrial world, but still with some of those truly old-fashioned things. I suppose the prudishness would suck a bit, but then, there's evidence that the Victorians weren't near as prudish as some historians have made them out to be.

Points taken! Yes, the Vicotrian age would have been fun as well. But then again I also like the wild west and the flapper era. I suppose there is something to like about every age we have come through!
