... that the English Football Association officials deduct ten points from some teams for wrongdoings, and not from others?
I'm pointing to the case of Chelsea, who played two players who didn't qualify for their game against Wigan; Wigan complained to the Football Association and Chelsea were fined... ok, a huge amount of money, but they didn't have the ten points deducted, which they should have done, and which would not have changed their second place position in the table. Just the same, I feel they should have had the usual ten points deducted.
Leeds United, on the other hand, were struggling to stay in the Champions League, albeit a hard task on the final day of the season, but they had ten points deducted, for folding the club at the league's suggestion. Hence, Leeds will be in the First Division next year, but they've succeeded in writing off a lot of debt, by starting back up as Leeds United Limited, still under the chairmanship of Ken Bates. Ok... a cop-out one might say, in the light that they would, in all possibility, go down anyway!
However... this does not detract from the fact that Chelsea got away with that ten point deduction, regardless of their position in the league, so what's it all about guys?
Is this favouritism? Should Chelsea have lost the ten points, just as a reminder that they can't cross the guidelines whenever they feel like it? What are your views on this?

I can't agree with that because the guidelines were there before Chelsea tried to step over them. If it hadn't been for the ever-grouchy Wigan, they might have got away with it, as well. Nobody is above anybody else when it comes down to legislations... they cover everybody, and if one is punished for breaking the rules, so should others be. I think it's totally unfair on the rest of the teams who have suffered a ten point loss.

Doesn't sound very fair to me sweets! See if I was still working just now I'd know all about the situation from chatting with the guys about it as they got drunk - honest I can stay sober when I'm working = sometimes! I am just miffed cos my team Stirling Albion won their play off game on Saturday and go up to the Scottish 1st Division next season and I missed the party cos I was stuck here! I am very, very happy though as I love to watch the Binos play live - and the kids love to go with me!

Awwwwww, a shame you missed the party Mummymo, but congrats on your team going up!!! Well done, Stirling Albion!
No, I don't think it's very fair either. Chelsea did just as much wrong as anybody else who lost points, so they too should be made example of, even if it makes no difference to their league position.
Thank you for your response Mummymo. I wasn't sure whether I'd get any responses here, so I'm really pleased to see you!!! Have a great Tuesday! xx
