FRIEND: a second self

Have you heard of the saying "tell me who your friends are and i'll tell you who you are". People tend to go out with people with whom they have similar interests, for the simple reason that they enjoy the same things that we do. A friend is not a carbon copy, because they have a mind and heart of their own. But basically they are the ones who understands us the most. There are times that even when we don't tell anybody a true friend knows when we're depressed or have problems, a true friend knows what you need without asking it from them, and a true friend stays with you when nobody else wants to be with you.

It may be through for many but it isn't always the case. Sometimes your exact opposite is your best friend because you know that both of you complements each other. When it comes to friends, they usually are not alike but once they are together the other friend sees the interest of another friend and is now interested. In other times, a person is influenced. For example, in school, a transferee student who is not that sociable first meets a friendly and talkative classmate. They do things together and give it a month or 2 and that new kid is one of the friendly, talkative kids.
