What desserts do you give your kids?

My kids always want an ice-block or icecream for desserts, I am trying to get them to eat something a bit more healthy. I don't mind them having it every now and then. If you know of any healthy desserts, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi chook. My kids are always asking for ice cream, too. If i have yogurt in the fridge i give them that sometimes. I try to get low fat variety. What about a low fat ice cream? Mine dont notice the difference. I dont let the kids have dessert all the time, and i make sure i have fruit in the house for them. But it is hard. Best wishes to you

I will have to buy some yoghurt again, I hadn't thought about that one, I used to buy it and I think they got bored with it and that is why I stopped buying it. I will get the low fat one too. I didn't think of the low fat ice cream either. Thanks!

actually I've never been big on giving the kids desserts....I'll make cookies on occasion and of course on bdays they have cake OR brownies but I certainly dont see (and never have) any point in having dessert everyday....

I do try and not give my kids dessert too much, but I have noticed lately that it seems to be more and more. Thanks!

Well, appease them and use frozen yogurt ice cream. The probably won't notice the difference! Or, use fat free ice cream. I like to take a tall parfait glass or pilsner or anything and layer a small dip of frozen yogurt, then a sprinkle of sliced strawberries (excellent antioxidant and full of other good things!) then another small layer of frozen yogurt and then topped with a few strawberrie slices and just a dollop of fat-free coolwhip! My kids love it! It is healthy!
