It has recently been reported, that feeling unfairly treated, can cause a heart attack. A sudy in England found a link between workers who felt unfairly treated & the risk of heart disease. People in the study, who fely they had been persecuted, wre towce as likely to suffer from a heart attack or angine. What I can surmise from this, is that stress is a leading cause of heart attackes. So for all of you who feel persecuted, first try to do something about it, & if that fails, seek stress relief, such as meditation. An interesting find, stress definitely plays an important role which many people like to overlook as if it's nothing to worry about. The importance though more and more is being seen as another leading trigger to a possible heart attack.

I don't think stress is the LEADING cause. It sure aids in it but not that much I feel. As from experience with friends in the A.A program suffering heart attacks and loved ones also the main cause is actually threir past diets and or lack of regualr exercise. Low sodium, low fat diets and daily walking is a good start to slow down the possibility of a heart attack/stroke/CGH etc. get out and walk today and eat healthy I say. I would agree that diet is the leading cause of most cancers, & probably heart attacks too. What this study has shown is the steress plays a significant role. When I studied all this many years ago (when my late husband had cancer), diet was seen as the number 1 cause & stress as number 2.

Well since my dads CHF we have all switched to a low sodium, low fat diet. I've got that part under control. Now to get this smoking habit kicked would be the Ace in the hole for me personally. Hardest addiction I've ever tri9ed to kick to date. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

what a great study-I can see how stress can cause a heart attack-the blood restriction, etc. I would get a massage every once in awhile or if it is job related then think/pray about whether you should change jobs. I am changing from the legal field to teaching-more rewarding although there will be stressers there too. Thanks for the article.

More and more, stress is being linked to all kinds of physical disorders. We can't escape all stress, but it's good to know how to deal with it. Not all stress is bad, because it could motivate you to look for a better job, or make favorable changes in your life.
