This multi tasking thing is really catching on, even at home. I heard it first in the office where we have to do several things at once, like listen and type at the same time, while doing some mental additions, while looking for some data in another window of the pc and all those odd things that you can do all at the same time. Now, the same idea is being applied to household chores! I've done all the chores you have listed, all at the same time, believe it or not, back when I was a stay at home husband while my wife worked. I had to stay at home due to an illness which I still have today but has been manageable so far, so I continued to work outside the home. It's not easy, and kudos to you for being such a wonderful mother, yaya, kasambahay, cook, laundrywoman, janitress, etc. LOL....

I also am a multi-tasker. I do laundry, clean, make dinner, feed the baby ect ect. There is a 2 hour period in my day where I usually have nothing to do since it is nap time. I actually get bored during this time and try to find things to do. As moms, we are natural at multi-tasking.

I like to try and get a lot of tings done at once. For instance, while I was washing dishes, I was reading some school material and putting some laundry away in the house. We went out of town for the weekend so there was a lot of catching up to do in the house. We didn't finish it, but we can usually get some of it done in little pieces of time. It helps that we're able to multi-task and get a few tasks done at once. I'll probably continue to put laundry away as I cook dinner tonight, or something like that.

Yep seems like all mommys are good at multitasking. for me I am working on the internet doing several sites at the same time, doing laundry paying bills, talking on the phone, and working with my husband at our computer desk unrelated to internet.

Yes, I multi-task. Things would never get done in my household if I didn't. Sometimes I get so caught up in it that I forget something when I am in the middle of it.

Even tho' I don't have kids, I am no stranger to multi-tasking at home or at work. I can't even watch TV without doing something else! Last night as an example I am researching stuff on the computer while on hold w/the cable company. Later, I am still in research mode and knitting. I was editing photos and making a pendant necklace. Doing laundry while doing other stuff is a given, but we have a washer/dryer so I just have to load and fold. I usually stop cold at the putting away part, that takes so long.

I think as parents we have to learn to multi task. There are so many times when I've found myself doing so many things at one time. For example I'll have a load of laundry going, cooking dinner or lunch, cleaning the dishes and in the mean time my daughter is right under my feet wanting my attention. It can get exhausting at times but like you said we just get used to it and it's our routine.

okay, i'm bipolar and have more of the ups than the downs. so i run all over the house starting like a hundred projects. i then at the end of the day am struggling to finish them. Just like you i'll start laundry, wash some dishes, then vacuum a little and then it's back to the dishes again. it's never ending. i definately lack concentration:)

Hi cherriemae, becoming a full time homemaker, I have become so used to handling multiple tasks. First thing in the morning, I prepared breakfast for my family. After that, I will do the laundry then sweeping the floor plus mopping it. Then attend to my son's need. After that I cook either for lunch or dinner. In my free time, I do mylotting!

Yes I do mutliple tasks. I wish my husband would help out more though.GRRRRR.He thinks his day is done as soon as he comes home from work.Heck I work 24/7 a day.A mothers job is never done.It is hard with kids.As I have 2 little ones and it can be a task as well as trying to do my money making sites.I can only imagine how hard it is for you being a single mom.Hopefully our family like your mom and dad can help with the kids.

I do multiple tasking too and I am also used to it. Like you, I also clean the house or do some cooking and watching the over the children while doing the laundry. I do this every Sunday morning. LOL! I guess it's what modern moms do nowdays. Sometimes it makes me wonder where I'm getting all the energy.

I always multy task, my problem is when I do I start one thing then go on to another and then another and sometimes forget what I was originally going to do.

I also do. I live all by myself in an apartment, so have to take care of things all by myself. Just like you, I also do multi-tasking. When I'm doing the laundry, I sweep my room, clean the windows and get back to the laundry again so on and so forth. But you know, it feels great achieving all these things. It really feels fresh, comfy and relieve after the laundry and housekeeping are done.

I don't know anyone who doesn't multi-task. Its just the way things go. For as long as I can remember I have always done several different things at one time just so I can get them all done faster. That way I have more free time to do things I actually like to do.
