Pirate Masters???

I agree they seem to be feeding off the Pirates of Caribbean theme, but let's face it, the movies have done great so you can't blame them for trying. But it just looks so much like survivor. Has it come to an age where reality shows outway the dramas and sitcoms? I guess people have become more interested in real people then fantasy people.

It's a double whammy kind of thing. People are watching more reality shows, and they're so much cheaper for the networks to make. It was thought that they'd run their course and be gone soon, but it's beginning to look like they're here to stay.

Yes, they are here to stay and they keep getting more ridiculous. I think the 'hip' thing to do is have a reality show. Even Oprah has one coming out!

I doubt it, I'm sure a lot of the survivor fans will tune in. And there are a lot of survivor fans!

You know you are the first one to say that. I don't like how all the Mark Burnett shows are so similar. I mean look at Survivor and the Apprentice. Instead of tribal council you have the board room. But the editing is all the same. In survivor it's a few seconds of some animal crawling around, in the apprentice it's a shot of the skyline. But all done in the same fashion. Maybe this will be different? But I know what you mean about wathing too many shows as it is.

I think I might do the same, check it out once. But I think it will be cheesy.

Do they vote people out like in Surivor to? You do make a good point, it'll give us something to watch during the summer while all the good shows are on vacation.

True the close quarters with no where to go should be an interesting little touch. I'm just afraid it will be too much like survivor and not have it's own flare. But I might be pleasently surprised.

Your are so right. Just like everyone else, they should jump on the Pirates of Caribbean bandwagon too. Hey, gotta make a buck right?

Yeah I like survivor too. Especially with twists and turns. So I'm sure I'll like it too

Oh absolutely they are playing off the Pirates of the Caribbean. But why shouldn't they? I mean all sorts of people are making money off the movies, why shouldn't these producers do the same. Capitilism at it's best.

Your right. It is a lot of lying and cheating. And it seems like this show will be even worse. Like it's part of the game. So I understand what you mean about this kids watching it.

I admit, I'm afraid of the same thing. That it will be a poor copycat of survivor. But at least it's the same producers and not some jo shmo trying his hand at it.

Oh I know what you mean regarding the producer.....Mark B is really good at these reality shows for the most part....

Your right, it does look a lot like Survivor. NOt just in concept but in editing and filming style. I think it's worth a try.
