Are you in favor of egg/ sperm donation?

Sperm donation is were a male put his semen in a container and donate or rather sell his semen to sperm bank. This semen shall then be injected to its receipient (woman) to conceived a baby.
Egg donation is the process by which a woman uses donated eggs in order to conceive a child instead of using her biological eggs.
These process are widespread in UK and i think in US too, used by most infertile couple, or old woman who wish to conceived a baby without a partner. What do you think are the other pros and cons on this matter? If you were a product (a child) of egg/sperm donation what will you feel? Is this process not against with God? Kindly share your insight.

This process is not actually very popular in the UK as it is illegal here ot be paid for donation of sperm or eggs so it is all voluntary.
It is also very expensive so I do not think it happens often enough in the UK to be an issue.
I do know though that if you go to america you ca donate eggs but it is a very dangerous process and extreme upheavel on the body as you need to have hormone injections for weeks and weeks to make you produce more and more eggs.
I know that in the states it is very simple to donate sperm if you pass all their checks.
I agree with it if it is because the couple aren't able to conceive their own children naturally due to complciations but I do not think it is something that people past child bearing age or people who would rather not have another parent.
I personally don't think it is something I would chose to be a part of myself but I do not know what the future holds.

Thanks for correcting me. I only assume that it is popular in UK because when i look for this topic most of the website i've seen in the search engine mostly were UK.
I had watched one movie or a tv drama regarding this issue before wherein the kid is a product of semen donation. As the kid grow, she feels something missing in her personality till one day her mother tell her the truth and the kid look for his dad from the sperm bank where the semen came from. The story I think is nice, but i forgot the ending because there is a sudden "brown-out" in our area. hehehe.

That definately sounds like just a film story line and doesn't sound like it owld have any truth in it. I don't understand how a child conceived from sperm donated could feel they were missing anything more than a child whos father had fleed the scene.
I can understand where the story is coming from and the issues it is trying to address but I think it has went about it all the wrong way.
Thanks for the best response anyway...you should keep an eye out on magazines aimed at young woman running stories on it as here int he UK they do it often in magazines such as Cosmpolitan and stuff. They do tons of research into it,.
