I was wondering how many live close enough to their job where they can walk and not worry bout the high gas prices. I dont have a car right now and so I am trying to get a job close to me where I can walk. Even if I had a car I would still do this. I would dave the car for only have to trips.

Yes it is good exercise I use to walk about 45 minutes to get to work. Like you say it is good exercise I need that. And I will say that I carried my little bag and I would change into my uniform when I got to work. Especially if it was raining. I enjoyed it myself.

Yes...from my bedroom to my workspace is only about 25 feet...lol. It would be nice to have a job that you didn't have to drive to and could walk or ride a bike. I think in the years ahead, this could become a trend as gas prices head to the moon. And working from home should also gather more momentum.

I'm about 7 miles from where I work, but it wouldn't be safe to walk on the roads where I have to drive to get there. Just too much traffic. My hubby drives 22 miles to work, but he drives a County car and we don't pay for the gas for it. We've been used to having only one car for years now, so things won't change too much when we retire later this year. We do try to fit as many things as we can into one trip when we go out, but I don't plan on walking to work. At least I only have to go to the office 2 days a week. I'm lucky.

I'm so close to my work, I don't even have to leave home.lol. I work at home, which is a nice thing, cause it really saves on gas. If I were to have a job outside the home, I would have to drive 10 miles in one direction or 20 miles in the other direction to get a good job. Plus the gas stations that are nearby only hire maybe once or twice a year, and it seemed I always caught them right after they had already hired someone. Just my luck though.

I work in my home. I watch a few kids every day. It's not alot of money only about 80.00 a week but it buys our groceries and puts alittle gas in the tank. We are moving in 2 weeks so I will need to find new kids in our new town.

i DON'T WORK BUT MY WIFE DOES AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE a drivers license. She takes the city bus every day to work. But as she works till 10 p.m. there isn't bus service available to our neighborhood at that time of the night. So I drive to get her as it's 10 miles away. She has been at the same job for 25 years now so changing jobs is not an option really. We do walk to places near the home or bike ride. Thanks again.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I live close enough to walk to work and I do. I have a car and my husband has a truck. With the price of gas what they are I walk to work. To drive it is under five minutes to get to work. It takes me about thirty minutes to walk and I do. It is good exercise and also it saves gas money.
