How did you come up with your mylot handle?

I use my handle alot and actually have a web page explaining it! When I met my husband online I was just leaving a role play chat room and had a fantasy name for my handle. I wanted something more mundane for my chats with him. He wasn't into that kind of thing and I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable. He said "Pearls and Lace" and I said well I'm more of a sapphire and cotton kinda girl. Next day sapphirencotton was born!

I've had the same on-line name since I started my first Hotmail account 12 years ago. I use it for both of my blogs, at Live Journal and blogspot, and for my writing at Associated Content and Helium. It's the same on my e-mail addresses and everywhere I join up. I keep it partly because I'm starting to build a brand for it, and partly because I've never found it "taken", anywhere!
The name itself is a nod at Legba, the gatekeeper, and the beginning of my first name.
