Buying WoW Gold

Do you think it's o.k to buy gold? It IS against the terms of service, but I'm wondering how people feel about it, and if you have ever bought gold. I personally wouldn't, because i wouldn't want to jeopardize my account.. and all of the spam whispers to buy gold are getting super annoying.
