What makes people become stupid idiots nowadays?

I think that some people will go to any length to get their 15 minutes of fame. Jackass and Viva La Bam have sort of promoted these things. There are all sorts of shows like that, though. As a friend mentioned in one of his discussions - American Idol.. People who can't sing go to try out, just to get their 15 minutes of fame. As for me, I can't see myself singing in front of millions upon millions of people. And I can't see myself doing stunts that could possibly cause me to get hurt. As for others, if that's what makes them happy, so be it.

I don't know what makes people act this way. I've seen so much stupidity lately that nothing even shocks me anymore. But I'd like to say thanks to those idiotic people for keeping me entertained:)

I think it's the stupid entertainment factor. It's nothing new, it's just spread to the web. This stupidity has been going on for decades, and the media figured out years ago that they could make money from people's stupidity. Now it's the stupid people laughing all the way to the bank. Remember all the idiocrasy (my own word, lol) that went on on talk shows in the 90s? Jerry Springer survived it when Sally & Ricki didn't. Why? Because his show is the king of asinine and asinine idiocrasy is what brings in the loot. Look at today's reality shows...Flavor of Love, for crying out loud! I'll admit it was totally stupid and distasteful, but I couldn't help but watch it. Look at Johnny Knocksville, the Jackass himself, he's banking phat loot now, and made his even more idiotic buddy, Bam, an icon of all idiots. I wish I knew what made them stupid to begin with, but I can tell you what's keeping them stupid is the almighty buck.
