do you punish yourself?

sometimes, we do stupid things that we regret later. someitmes, we make stupid decisions which make us angry at ourselves because we've got no one else to blame but ourselves.
do you punsih yourself because of this? me, i dont really physicaly punish myself but i think the one that i let suffer is my ego and self-esteem. i keep telling myself how stupid i am tomake such decisions, blah3x.
what about you? do you punish yourself?

No, I don't punish myself when I make mistakes, however stupid I might think them to be, because I will have learned a lesson to never make the same mistake again. Ok, it might make you feel foolish at the time, perhaps even angry with yourself, but what's done is done... you can't turn back time and change the way you did something. So, learn from it and move on. You've been punished enough by the mistake itself.

yes, you're right. i have gained some insight from your response. we should styop punishing ourselves because we get enough punishment from the consequences of the experience. we dont need to punish ourself. :) thanks for your answer. :O

yeah, i tend to be pretty hard on myself. i can never let myself live things down. Just like you said my ego and my self esteem are what suffers.

hey there dedicated_28. maybe we should sometimes give ourselves a break because its not so healthy to be always making our self esteem and ego suffer the consequences of the mistakes that we have made. :)
