Someone needs to pick up this show and continue it for at least 1 more year. Do you think another station would pick it up if bombarded with petitions from all over? Hint hint. How would one go about this other than a petition..I think another station would be interested if they knew how many of us want to see more. Any ideas?

I agree with Suzi05. I heard the same rumors about Rory not wanting to sign a new contract. But I just responded on another discussion about gilmore girls. I think they ended the show the way they did in hopes that maybe they could convince Rory to sign a new contract for one more season. With Rory taking her time to make a desicion I think the end of the season crept up on them and they didn't have time to make a series finale that tied up all the loose ends.

maybe if she doesn't find any movies to be in for a while, she would change her mind.

I dont think the station canceled it because they chose to.. from what I've heard Rory didn't want to return for another season and Lorelai decided since she was quitting that they should end it too, instead of trying to carry on and try to just shift the focus on her and LUke and them getting married and stuff.. so I guess a petition wouldnt work. I'm sooo sad its over!! I can't believe that was the last GG EVER!.. I wanted a wedding! and I think its weird we never got to see Lane's babies.. not even a picture.. and I wanted to see what Suki's baby was too..too many loose ends. They should have had an extended season or something WAAAAH!! i WANT MY GILMORE GIRLS BACK! hehehe

What a bummer. I was hoping we could get one more season out of them on one of the cable stations with the original writers. :(

It's been on for 7 years. I think we should all just let it go. Give the actors a chance to move on and focus more on other projects, maybe it will give Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham a chance to do more movies, since they won't have a busy tv schedule to work around.
