ADVICE PLEASE---planning a surprise party

My husband is graduating from college and I want to throw him a surprise party. My house and yard are too small for the amount of people I want to invite (50 or so). There is a very nice county park just down the road from our home and it has some great, affordable picnic shelters. But party-goers would have to pay $5 to park. Is it rude to ask that of guests? I'd really like to have it there because it's so close to my home so running back and forth would be simple. Guests are being asked not to bring a gift. Any advice??

Let guests know that in loo of a gift there will be a $5.00 parking fee to the county park. Also state that you will help arrange for carpooling for those with larger vehicles that are willing to rideshare and the riders could split the parking fee. Your house would be a good meeting spot for parking the cars that will not go to the park. I think it's a great idea and one you should be able to pull off. Have Fun!

A gift would cost more then $5. Going to a party, getting fed, having fun and paying $5...not a problem. Go for it...
