Many bloggers think that they build a blog and they will come. This is not the case at all. All it takes is ten minutes everyday to increase your traffic. Ask any SEO expert and they will tell you that search engines love content so update your blog on a regular bases. Participating in forums is another great way to get loyal readers to your blog. If you are looking for a blogging forum to join, check out my forum BloggerTalk.net Anyone new to blogging will find BloggerTalk.net very helpful. A little self promotion there. lol How do you drive traffic to your blog and how long have you been blogging? Does anyone have any tips for new bloggers they'd like to share?

I'm a little mystified as to how and why you got upset at one person suggesting to a newb, a blog site (without a user-particular url) but then thanked all the others who contributed blog sites.... I'm just completely mystified by that.

David, perhaps you should have asked me that by pm and I already stated I did not want to get into that here. The post has been taken care of!

Thanks David, I am still somewhat mystified by this. Rose still really hasn't answered why she found it so offensive (like you said, it wasn't like I was using some sort of referral link), it was just a helpful site, just like all the others have been adding. I truly do not understand.

linkreferral has brought a lot of hits to the site I'm building for work www.tomwhitehouse.co.uk I don't think they are helping with sales but the review feature has brought me some helpful suggestions and constructive criticism which is worth its weight in gold. Simon :-D

I have no experience with blogs at all...I do not understand the concept behind them...while I do see alot of references to them...I would not even have a clue what to do to begin a blog or what purpose they serve.... Sorry...I am interested in learning more, so I will check out the website, my friend.

Hello Tina, a blog is short for weblog. A weblog is an online journal. Here is an article that explains blogs and you can always view my blog. The link is in my profile here at mylot. http://www.bloggertalk.net/article-17--0-0.html

I have used BlogExplosion and BlogMad and instantly saw an increase in traffic. In the early days I was getting audience participation but that seems to have tailed off. I got a bit lazy with it, and that certainly didn't help. I'm picking it up now as well as starting another one this morning. I'm no doubt not taking advantage of all the stuff I can plug into it like Technorati etc. but it takes ages to read up on whose features to use, and how to do it. The blog I am talking about above is www.TwoRedPaperclips.com and the new one is www.yammbq.blogspot.com (Yet Another Money Making Blog Quest!) Maybe swing by and let me know what you think? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry for the shameless plugs!Simon.

Well for all the New Blogers out there one of the best ways to get traffic to your site is to have lots of quality content to your site. Another way is to have lots of backlinks to your site also The more back links you have the better. I have found a Site that peope ask for link exchanges and you can control what links you put on your site You will have to check it out. the Site is called Link Market. You can find a link for it on either of my blogs. My blogs are at http://mirage108.blogspot.com & http://tech-mirage108.blogspot.com

I use to have blogs before at Blogspot and Blogestates but was not able to continue doing it since I just get runout of topics. Seems to me it must be something very important that readers might get interest to read on. Anyway I am still hoping to be back there sometime.

I have been checking to see if I get any traffic to my site from mylot visitors. So far it doesn't look like it. I have been participating in a few discussion boards related to my blog and have had a little success there.
