How long have you worked in your current job?

Just an informal poll on how long folks here have been working on their current job. It can be a formal regular job, or an informal work from home job. My theory is that people are staying shorter and shorter periods at their jobs.

Come next month, I would have been at my present job for 4 years now. I think it's time for a change and better prospects but I'm taking a wait and see approach first.

wow you are the longest serving in this thread! congrats I'm sure you're looking forward to your tenth year. does your company offer an increase in leave? most do after ten years of 'long service'. with a good pay and enough time to do what you want. sounds like a great job to me. I'm quite happy in my job too. and i'm the lazy kind and inertia gets the better of me.

yes i do get more leave when i reach a certain years of service. but currently my leave is quite a lot liao loh. also, the things i yearn in life cannot be bought with money. of course money is good but it doesn't really help me in achieving what i want. for example spending more time with my parents and talking to them, spending more time with my babies and play with them. going around the world needs money though, but not really a lot. coz i've been to japan for a week and all inclusive spent $1k per person :)

erm... since graduation? well was in my first job for almost 5 years before moving on. One year into my current job and still learning the ropes. Not one to like to change job... but if there is a necessity, then there is no choice but to go. Not advisable though. Cos it will reflect that you are not one who is able to stay long enough to establish any expertise before moving on.

Hi! Interesting question... I have been a mother for 5 and a half years now, and I have been a Human Resource Manager for 16months.. Yes it seems that people change jobs very much more frequently than they used to in the days of our parents... Even and parents getting divorced and changing their roles is done more frequently these days...
