Could Jiraya beat Itachi Uchiha?

...This..i can't really calucualte. Its really hard to tell. Probaly most of us would think that Itachi is stronger, but Jiraya did teach the 4th hokage and from the looks of it, it looks as if the 4th hokage is stronger than Itachi(this i got from other mylot users). Do you think Jiraya can beat Itachi Uchiha?

well ... it's not that easy guys . itachi had these sharingan. even Jiraiya teach Yondaime that doesnt mean Jiraiya had stronger than the fourth. remember, even Kakashi acknowledge that now Naruto surpass him. it's now a different generation.
even itachi looked bad, but without itachi, sasuke wouldnt try to trained like hell.

Of course jiraiya will beat itachi...Who's that itachi compared to jiraiya...jiraiya is one of the legendary sannin...I think jiraiyas frog can beat itachi...not using his moist power....itachi is just a baby for jiraiya and will totally cry when get hurt...huhuhu! Poor itachi...

the thing is they havent been shown in serious fights where their best jutsus are used. I think jiraiya would be able to hold his own, and in the end, i personally think he would win.

it probably would be a tie since itachi and jiraya are both legendary samin(i don't know how to spell it).

i think jiraya can beat itachi as long as jiraya is careful and doesnt let his guard down. afterall, jiraya is much more experienced than itachi and as you said, he taught the 4th hokage. plus, we havent really seen jiraya's true power and other techniques and we have seen much of itachi's and we saw that his techniques can be defeated by naruto and the others. ^__^

No, I don't think Jiraya could beat Itachi Uchiha. Of course, it would be a though battle... But Itachi can simply use his Mangekyou Sharingan. Itachi could copy Jiraya's techniques. And Itachi certainly is way faster than Jiraya by now. Jiraya could fight with his toad, but you don't know if Itachi can summon a monster too.

IDK because in the Anime Itachi says that he is a formidable opponent. But not even Ororchimaru can defeat him. But we don't know if Jiraiya can defeat Orochimaru cuz at the 3-way sannin fight he was at a disadvantage with the poison and all and couldn't show his full power.
