Give the dog a bath!
You know, they make so great dog shampoo out there that is long lasting.
There is one that is also antibacterial...since bacteria is often the cause of smell...that the shampoo makes the dog smell like apples for a very long time.
Of course, you also have to stop the dog from rolling in the grass after a bath or there is just no point!

Dogs don't have sweat glands the same way we humans have. But they do have glands that act as sweat glands. Even though they actually cool off by panting.
But if you had my dogs, you would know that they were hot by smelling them. And when they cooled off, they didn't smell so bad. ha ha

the first time i saw your question, its intriguing and then i laugh coz i saw what your real question is... about it, you could use a scented dog soap that says that it eliminates dog smell... i guess they smell coz dogs don't sweat... so you should just bathe them every day or every other day... =)

Wash him with good shampoo, throw him out in the garden to dry and then take him back in. You probably don't want him in the house when wet since well yeh... we all know how wet dogs smell.
