My 14 year old daughter has been talking about this book since it was stated to be coming out. She states that on the new books cover, it says "Snape good or evil". Most people say they dont know. Snape saved Harry in the first book. But in the sixth book, he kills Dumbledoor. Personally, my daughter thinks he is evil. Think about it, yes he does save Harry in the first book but Snape claims that he didnt know that Quirrel was possed by the dark lord. She thinks that Snape hated Quirrel so when Snape saw him jinxing Harrys broom, he countered it. When Snape went to the third floor to cut off Quirrel on Halloween, she thinks Snape thought he wanted the sorcerers stone for himself. Would Snape have known he was possed by the dark lord she thinks he would have helped him. So yes she says she thinks Snape is definately evil. What do you think?

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I have read and re read the 6 books. Personally, I think, SNAPE IS NOT EVIL. Though it appeared that Snape killed Dumbledore, I think, Snape is just following Dumbledore's instructions-that is, to keep on "pretending" that he is on the Dark Lord's Side. I don't know, but I the fact that Dumbledore trust Snape, and ignored everybody, including Harry Ptter's negative remarks/reports/comments about Snape. When Harry POtter and Dumbledore were in the small island, Dumbledore had very strict orders that Harry should not let him stop drinking the mysterious liquid. That Harry Potter should make sure that he'll drank the whole basin. Snape is just pretending to be evil. Well, we'll know when we read the last and final book. Ciao!

I dont think snape is evil, in every book dumbledore has said he trusts snape and i think you have to trust dumbledore and what he says. I think snape killed dumbledore as part of some bigger plan, maybe so that he can continue to pass information to the order, if he hadnt killed dumbledore it's likely voldermort would have killed snape. I think Dumbledore has really good judgement and is smarter than we think. I also think that Snape might have made an unbreakable vow with the good guys just like he did with Mrs. Malfoy. Appearances can be deceiving and I hope that Snape is just a really good double agent. I cannot wait for the last book to come out. The suspense is killing me.
