I feel so blessed to have the job as housewife, homemaker, or domestic engineer. LOL I do not take it as serious as I wish I did. I could be doing so much more than I do, but I am glad to say that I don't just sit all day and watch soaps and eat bon bons. That was a joke that a friend of mine and I had. She would ask me what I had been doing and that would be my answer. "Oh, just watching soaps and eating bon-bons." I know there is lots that I don't get done thru the day but I am so blessed and thankful that I am a homemaker. It is my responsibility to make this house a home and to take care of it and my family. How do you feel about your position of homemaker?

Yes I take my job of being a homemaker seriously. Not many women are able to be stay at home moms in today society. So I find that I am blessed to be one of the few that can. It's not an easy job to do but one that is very rewarding. Like you I don't sit around all day watching soaps and eating bon-bons. LOL! But spend most of my day cleaning, cooking, laundry and spending time with my kids. And it seems like there is still never enough time in the day to get everything done that needs to be done. I am usually up late into the night trying to finish everything I can in hopes that maybe one day during the week I can sit down and just do something fun that I enjoy doing. But I don't see that happening anytime soon! LOL!

It is a very busy job and it never quite gets done no matter how hard we work. The rewards are very plentiful though. Thanks for posting.

This is a toughest job as a Homemaker. As a Homemaker or HFO (Home financial Officer), we should be able to plan, do, check and action. That's mean we have to ensure everything is in order, the entire home is going effectively and efficiently and cost conscious. In addition, all the members are well taken care of regardless they are working or studying. I have just become a homemaker 7 months ago, wow, which is a tough task than my engineering or manager job. As a homemaker, there is no tea-break neither lunch time. We are competing against time; ensure everyting are in schedule.
Yes, everyday is a challenging and exciting day!

I like being a domestic engineer of course me and some of my othr friends call it Home ecomics engineer as a cute joke instead of just being the normal old housewife or homemaker..lol makes us sound more interesting..I don't watch soaps or eat bons bons never could get into the soaps at all. I guess it was to hard for me to keep up with all the stories going on and if you missed a day or two it messes it all up and it takes awhile to figure out what is what..I like being a housewife but occasionally I like getting out and spreading my wings to do other stuff. There is just much cleaning you can handle doing. So I am glad I hooked up with mylot to make my life a little more adventureous..lol and a little less boring.

Its definitely a full time and more at times and I do tend to take it seriously most of the time. Now and then I have a lazy day off or "can't be bothered" days but that rarely happens.
It's going to be a lot different when my son starts Kindergarten in September and I maybe one of those who might be sitting in front of the tv eating bonbons LOL but it won't be watching soaps, but catching up on movies I have missed over the years :)

Yes, I think one of these days I'm going to take a day and watch movies all day long. I think we deserve it every now and then. Thanks for your response.

Well right now I have three kids in school, and so there's plenty of time for me to be getting a whole load done.
However, I do the chores that have to be done as soon as I get up, then I spend a lot of my day on Mylot, till my kids come home.
I don't take it as serious as I could do at times, but my home is always clean and tidy. Just keeping on top of things is how I like it.

That is how we should all do it, stay on stop of it. I get so far behind someday and then somedays, I work like I don't have any sense. Then I can't do anything for a day or so I am so tired. Thanks for your response.

I am not a homemaker right now since I'm still finishing up school, but I just got married and I think being a housewife would be such a fulfilling occupation! I think it would feel so good to take care of the house and family and be able to devote more time to my husband that way.

Being a homemaker is a very serious and very hard job. However, I think that it is very important to take it serious and see it as the blessing that it can be. However, I know that as busy moms, most homemakers can't enjoy it as much as they would like.
I work outside the home and homeschool my kids, but I still try to take my homemaker position as serious as anyone who is home all the time. I believe that God gave me my family so that I could care for them and that it is my job to do that even if I do work outside the home.

Well, I often feel bored doing the same things over and over, such as dishes, laundry and cleaning. It seems a never ending job. But, I do enjoy the freedom of being able to stay at home and not have to get up and go to work. I know that I could be doing a better job of doing things around the house.

I do enjoy being a homemaker. I do take it quite seriously. It is important to keep the house clean and organized if you can since you are staying at home. I myself do have a four year old son and I take care of him also. My husband is working and I stay here and go on line or clean. I do have a certain routine that I like to stick to and it is all very important to me every day.
