Have you ever had a pet turtle?

My co-worker has a turtle, he bought it for his kids years ago as they wanted a dog and he didn't so he got them this turtle instead. Now when we all sit around talking about our dogs and cats and sharing stories he will engage us with turtle stories. It is so funny to listen to.

My sister had one when she was little. And she hid the thing and we couldnt find it.LOL My mom looked all over for it. Then one day my sister brought it out and the thing was still alive.LOL

I have had pet turtles in the past for my oldest boy. We got rid of them to another turtle lover when I got pregnat with my second child. I just got another baby turtle yesterday that my husband brought home to me. He knew how much I wantwed to get another one and surprised me.

Yes I did a few times when I was a child. I would see one on the road that I lived on. It was a dirt road and I would have one for a while.

I've never had a turtle as a pet before, but did at one time have a hermit crab as a pet. Those were neat to have. I had it for many years, but we moved and during the move despite my efforts I think it got to hot inside it's aquarium and it become to much for my little hermit crab and it passed away. But it was fun while I had it. Was a rather unusual pet to say the least, but I miss my little Hermie just the same

I sure did. It was a box turtle had it for a long time. I let the turtle go wherever she wanted to go she was free in the house sometimes I see her in the hallways walking and looking around and she knew where we keep her little house it was so cute we also had mud turttles my hubby found it somewhere near the road but we let it go because we felt it would be better out in the muddy area as it lives in the mud.

No I don't but my neighbor's kid have one, and more then once it wonderer's off and then there is a big search in the neighborhood, looking for Mr.T, that is his name, he is 5 years old.

When I was growing up I use to have pet turtles. Well they were wild so I only kept them for about two weeks and turn them lose. I loved turtles, still do. I also love iguanas.

When I was a kid you could buy a pet turtle from the dimestore. I used to have them, and I liked them a lot. They were easy to take care of, and quiet too. Now, the kind of turtles I had are hard to find. I think they might not sell them anymore because they carry salmonella. I know that you can find larger ones, but the ones I had were small, like baby turtles. Now, I'm out in the country, and I find turtles walking accross the road all the time. I always go put them by the creek so the cars won't run over them.
