Children in Pageants? / myLot

What do you think about parents/mothers that enter their children in pageants? You know with the makeup and hair and the pretty dresses? I think it should be the child's choice as to whether or not they want to be in pageants... I don't think I'd ever force my child. And furthermore, I don't think i'd put makeup on them and all that stuff...

I find them kind of disturbing. I don't like the idea of people competing against each other on the basis of looks, and I think make-up on little girls looks very creepy.
