I think that more and more in our society that your appearance has an affect on job offers, promotions, and other professional aspects. It seems to me that when I go into a bank that everyone is very attractive, but some of them have no clue what they are doing. I understand a business wanting people with a good appearance to represent them, but does that mean all unattractive people with get the jobs in the jobs where no one sees them? What do you think?

Sometimes, there are people that wants to have attractive employees. So that it will attract other people to do business with them. This is not right actually. Like you say, when the person is so fat, wear big glasses, she will not be easy to apply for job. This people should not be so typical in finding new employees. As long as they know how to do work and very hardworking person. That is just the employees that all company must have.

Yes I agree just because someone is pretty does not mean that they will be a good image for your company. They must know what they are doing. I may be attracted to a company for the attractive people, but I am turned away immediatley if they have no clue what to do.

A person should have good impressive personality and he or she should carry him or her self in proper and good manner. It depends on nature of job you are getting or doing. In professional places You have to look professional,up to date, clean, energetic, attractive ,well dressed and nice softly spoken.Where as If you go for some work which doesn't need that much qualifications they can hire you as You are.I believe appearance does effects one's life because whoever sees you in first place will see you appearance not you qualifications. This is how world is,You have to carry yourself good way,and make your personality impressive, which can be happen if you are well educated and well manner.

I would not call myself the most attractive person, but I have always dress nice and professional and I feel that you are correct you must make a good impresion and if you looked like you crawled out of a hole I wouldn't hire you.

I feel its not right to allow only attractive people to represent.Ya know because sometimes the most attractive person can be have the ugliest personality and like you said have no clue to what they are doing.I feel if a person meets the qualifications then it should be based on that.To me choosing the more attractive person is not right.Society should not be like that but thats the way it can be sometimes

I think it's natural, though rather unfair, for people to feel more comfortable with good looking people. Imagine you were offered a ride by either a very attractive young woman, or a creepy old man. Most people would probably pick the woman, but for all you know, it could be that she is a serial killer, while the old man is a war veteran who has saved lives! People seem to associate good looks with being a good person, and so the good looking person seems more trustworthy, even though this is not necessarily true. For this reason I would think companies would be more likely to place attractive people where the public can see them because it is good for their image, even if those people are not necessarily good workers. Even though this is unfair for people who are not considered attractive, it is a good business strategy. I don't think it goes for ALL people though. Once someone has proven himself or herself as an asset to the company for long enough, it's likely he/she will be placed in a more 'visible' position. Look at Donald Trump... he's not that good looking, but he has effectively built his empire, become a TV star, and also has a beautiful wife!

See I guess I am just different, because I would never accept a ride from ANYONE I do not know. It is true though people to make it seem that good= pretty. Yeah, when I first saw who he was married to I was like WOW!. Either she really loves him and is not shallow like some of us or she is up to something.

In the sence you are right. Most of the agencies, stores, companies, or offices wants somebody to have nice personality. Must be attractive or can make customer admire... hmmmm... It will not bother me...
