This is the beginning of a new story I'm starting. I predict that I'm going to have a lot of fun with it. This doesn't give away it's ploat at all, so I'm not worried about sharing it. Please comment and critique. I want to make sure this is okay, and that I used correct lingo for it. Thank you! And Enjoy.
The great ships whistle bellowed across the early morning sky, its peach and yellow colors outlining the ships dark exterior. Rich people climbed the steps up to the ships shimmering decks, each group ignoring each other and pretending they were the most important people stepping onto the boat.
A handsome man in his late thirties stood at the top of the steps, his crisp, blue captains suit shone in the skies light. He introduced himself as Tom Willis and welcomed passengers as they moved passed him. Some offered smiles, many snubbed his gracious words. Stewards hurried from the ships cabins to assist the passengers and their luggage to suitable rooms.
A seventeen year old by approached the Captain Willis from behind and stood behind his left shoulder. He sported a hazel shirt, opened to show off a white muscle shirt, and he wore nice fitting Capri pants.
Captain Willis continued to smile. “Nice of you to dress up.”
“Aw, well you know, I live only to impress these people.”
“Brandon, I asked you to do one thing. I know you brought a nice suit, why can’ t you just plaster a smile on your face and…”
“Heads up dad, more costumers coming on deck.”
Captain Willis shook his head and turned back towards the passengers, smiling and shaking hands with anyone who would acknowledge him. For the ones who ignored and look down on him, he spoke pleasantly to their turned faces.
Brandon rolled his eyes, it was hard for him to respect his father during moments like this. Without a sound Brandon turned and walked toward his room.
He slammed the door behind him and slumped onto the bed.
“If he wants to degrade himself to those people he can, but not me!”
Brandon stared up at the ceiling, his arms supporting his head. Soon, a thin sheet of sleep overtook him.
Back on deck, Captain Willis stood faithfully by the side of the ship, when a familiar hoot turned his head. Mark Rrynolds pushed his way up the stairs, followed by a gangly teenage boy. Mark met Captain Willis with a bear hug and handshake, the boy stood awkwardly to the side. The other passengers walked by with disgusted glares.
Captain Willis laughed, “Michael, Brandon is probably in his room, you can go see him now.” Michael, relieved, trotted away.
“So, when does this old geezer set sail?” Mark asked.
“As soon as the passengers are all on board, the line is thinning out. It shouldn’t be too long now,” Willis answered.
“Good good, while I’m gonna go settle myself in, you know where I’ll be.”
The Captain nodded and watched his friend walk away, than he turned towards the line. The last of the people were climbing the stairs. Three men at the bottom wore Reyban sunglasses and dark suits.
“Hey gentlemen, you here for business or pleasure?” Captain Willis asked when they reached the top.
“Business,” one answered, and without another word they walked away.
Everyone was on baord. The stairs were pulled away from the ships hull, as the ship let out another great cry, echoing its sad fate.

I could almost guess that when I first read this that it was somehow connected with the Titanic..especially the last line.."as the ship let out another great cry, echoing its sad fate.." but I guess not..since people were wearing Rayban sunglasses..uh, don't think they had them then--vey good though..is the story of ship going toward some ill-fated disaster??

lol! no it isnt about Titanic! =P The ship will sink, but that def. is not at all what the story is about. The story is about what happens to the passengers and where they end up! :) I don't want to give to much away! lol
