affiliate programs definitely work but again, you need to have a marketing strategy as in all money making ventures 20% of all affiliates make 80% of the money, so you need to seek a mentor who is making money from affiliate programs and learn from them so you don't waste your time on a fruitless venture.

Thats true but I would not say that you need a mentor. There is plenty of info out on the net to teach you everything you need to know. I started from scratch and learned one affiliate program at a time. now I make money from of 25 different companies. If you learn something new it will never be fruitless.
