I am trying to figure out what to go to college for and where I can get a job at. I have a forgery conviction which is a class E felony which restricts me from so much it seems like. Everything I think of getting into is like going down a dead end road. The conviction was 7 years ago and cannot be expunged. I feel like giving up sometimes but I cant. I am a single parent of 2 kids and cant seem to get anywhere. I dont know what else to do. I have talked to so many people and school counselors but just cant get nothing accomplished. Do you have any ideas as far as schooling and jobs?

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear you are in this kind of situation. My ex has burglary and assault plus some other stuff on his record and he's going to school to me an some kind of engineer. Don't ask me who is going to hire him with all that he has on his record (this all happened during our divorce). Hopefully someone will have some kind of answer for you. The school counselors couldn't give you any kind of advice on what to go for? You think that they would know. Have you talked to an admissions or academic advisor?

I have talked to advisors and there answers arent very good they suggested I go into things like Accounting and business, but with a forgery how can i get into acct. come on now. They just want money. I thought about engineering to, but these days noone wants to hire you if you have anything on your record. Drives me crazy.
